CS:CZ isnt on hold, but it is on its third developer and the latest release date on amazon is october, about 2 years late ^_^

Its not based on the HL engine, so its not really a HL mod.

I heard CZ was using the HL engine... Infact, that was the reason why it came close to being abandoned, because they realised that no-one in their right mind would buy a game using a 4yr old engine.

The HL engine is so bloated, and shite for online play. It's amazing that there's such a big online HL community, considering how both Q2 and Q3 are infinitely better at netplay, on any connection, compared to HL.

I heard that the HL engine which they are using has been modified so much that there is very little of it left, so it could basically be called a new engine.

Still I dont know why they didnt just build a new one. Surely it would make more sense than mucking around modifying an engine for so long.

Yeah was quite dissapointing. Friend had said it was really good but I didn't like it at all. Gameplay seemed to fast and the only way to stay alive is bunny hop around and use spammy weapons to increase your chance to hit someone.

It's currently the new record holder for the shortest stay on my hard drive ever.
