I think the point is that Relic Raids started to be atleast close to Primetime.
Mids had put the mark for this to 'Close-to-Primetime' raid at 16:00CET
and yesterday Albs set it to 'Full-Primetime' for raiding succesfully at ~20:00CET.

There're quite some Mids that aren't too happy about this 5:00am raid.

Gotta Agree with Hellskor - I wasnt too happy when the Hibs got our power relics in the early hours but at least I felt they were prob too short on numbers to do it the other way.

We Mids have no excuse - but then the subset of Middie players who are willing to do this kind of stuff is pretty small.

Like my friends I enjoy battling other armies of players rather than killing endless guard spawns.

I think its a pretty poor way to get em back as I'd rather have gone after them with some decent opposition :(

Hope the Albs get em back soon so we can come for them in peak time too!

/salute to all the Albs that made yesterday evening great fun!

the raid started at like 2:30 though...
and i always play at 5 in the morning anyways so... dont come and take our relics before 22:00 cause then i might not be playing.. OooHhoooohooohhoooOOOh.. !

Oh well, you do what you have to do. Sure, it's a game ... sure, peeps want to attack at certain times to stand up to the "primtime politics" that have been set by a few, but ...

I don't know, I just look at it this way. One of the ideas behind RvR is that realms succeed other realms and if that involves attacking when least expected or when there is little opposition then so be it.

Either way, I did nearly wet myself laughing at 4am wandering around Emain and seeing the message "The Albion strength relic has been removed from it's shrine!". What was even more funny was seeing the Mids and Albs in Emain who just didn't seem to care! :D

Relics are so passe these days. ;)

Well I mostly start playing after midnite so 2.30 3.00 is actualy prime time for me.....Guesse we sleep at diff hours.. And work diff hours too..so I have to play when it suit's someone ell's...LOL I dont think so.. And Gombur as you dont play anymore plz keep the :m00: 's and the :sleeping: 's to yaself
Peopel who dont play the game, there opinions count for diddly ;)

Alas, I prefer to view other's inconsistencies as mistakes rather than inept, feeble attempts to defend themselves - hmm, noone actually believed that, did they? :( Once a cynic always a cynic.

Ok albs heres what happened yes the relic was finally taken at 5am but the raid started at midnight, a small group of experienced raiders took forever to get ready then a some outrageous pop rates wiped everyone out. By the time everyone got back, and a slight crazy melodrama with getting the relic back it took ages. On the american servers early morning relic raids are standard. And hats off to you for your recent change to prime time raids. But look at the lack of security at excalibur for the blame. You had no one on guard, so it was a spontaneous repsonse, wasn't planned was simply re-acting to one of your lapses in defence. You out number midgard 2-1 we'd be extremely hard pushed to face you in open combat, cause you flood the zone with noobs and crash it everytime. And yes some albs have seen high up people in certain leading guild ordering people into sauvage to crash the zone.

dont do it yoursef, what goes around, comes around.

I only wish i could be online for every relic raid, but my work hours prevent me from this.

And what hypocrisy, some mids whine about you doin relic raids early sunday morning. I've read some albs who whine about mids doin relic raid at 5 am, well i see little whine in you post. So some albs are hypocrates then aswell. Its only a small fraction that whine so dont point on the whole realm, as i dont point at all albs, after all there are a few hundred players in each realm, and we all cant play on the sametime and do relic raids at the socalled primetime.

Since the best rvr are almost every nite after 22.00 CET. And when i'm off from work i usually are online until 5 am CET so thats primetime for me.... :p

Primetime is the time when there is most people online on the server. And all these threads are about albs getting a little pissed on midgard for doing a 5am raid after we were told how very lame we were for walking up early for a 9am raid.

The thing that pissed me off, was that i missed out on all the fun, i was actually online but was to dam drunk, so when i heard about the relic raid i logged and went to bed...

To all the Mids who are unhappy at the relics being taken at a late/early time:

FACT: Pre patch, several prime time relic raids were organised, on at least two of those occasions less than 30 people could be bothered to turn up, I know, I did head counts at Hadrians PK, instead, the majority of our so called High levels were content to sit and farm xp/items for hour after hour, which of course is their right, as they pay their subs and can do whatever they wish, as can those of us who plan and execute raids at times which suit our playing times/time zones/sleeping patterns/work shifts.

FACT: The raid would have been earlier....however, the relic keep doors needed to be repaired first, which took a great deal of time especially as many of those same High Levels and many others besides, chose to suicide at APK Odins and go back to their xping and item gathering, or indeed return to real life...leaving us with less defenders at AMG and less people to do wood runs...thereby extending our response time quite considerably.

I for one am very proud of the relatively small number of Mids who showed a great deal of dedication to their realm and went to get the relic back as I am proud of all the (increasingly small number of) Mids who can be bothered to get involved in RvR these days anywhere other than the occasional xp break trip to Emain, /salute to you all.

I suggest to those who come to these boards and criticise...next time YOU arrange it, do it in "Prime time" arrange 100 Middies who can dedicate their services for at least 5 hours, because thats how long an AVERAGE defended relic keep raid takes, of course this may be shorter or longer depending on circumstances. BE SURE to inform the Albs/Hibs that you are coming and at what time so they may place an appropritely balanced defence team at the relic keep...also please rearrange the lives of those if us who CANNOT play at peak time in order for us to do so and join YOUR raid...until then please keep your comments to yourselves, they are not helpful, they do nothing but insult and denigrate.

This game is played 24/7... get over yourselves.

yes but still the relic is some only some pixels with a minor bonus a large relic assault with defenders is a good nights fun.

Fafnir I am not talking about whine on BW I am talking about irc where we got some nasty comments.

I saw on my friends screen who were out in Thid having fun that a raid was going on, so i quit NWN and picked me up a ram.
I think the raid was started by the boredom of repairing the mjollner keep doors.
Most of the people attending were already logging in at this time, so in the theory there should be the same amount of people on albion to defend, but again its late, people are tired and wanna go to bed.
Anyways this was the most successful raid ive been on, when i saw the troup showing up, i thought us doomed, i saw 8-10 yellow conn and rest was green-, but i was in it for the fun and experience as always.
To my surprise we survived the uber guard pull and we survived banging 2 doors down, i was truly amazed.
We have been a 3x larger+ force before and didnt even survive banging the first door down, but this time it was a in tight formation and we succeeded.

Im not proud of the hour of the day, but i am proud that we even did it just fighting NPCs

I sincerely hope its very sarcastic when a guy posts that mids are filled with schoolkids and job-less people, who havent got anything else to do, because im sure people are fairly spread out on the servers. And in my case im a student on summervacation, starting my 3. year next year, so not much time to DAoC, so raids is fun for me while i can attend to them
