Absolutely unbelievable - everyone who downloaded the premium version in the first 6 hours had their windows Boot.ini file deleted!!!!

Mine got wiped but my system restored itself - some people are not so lucky and now have non-functional computers thanks to CCP.

This has to be the single worst disaster I have seen in any MMO - lol!!!

I didn't get that though and I was among the first that downloaded it. So it doesn't happen to everyone.

But yeah it's a big fuckup from CCP.

No that was when some dude at GOA did a brainfart and deleted everyones items on Prydwen like 2 years back or so. So they had to manually hand back everyone items.

Have they sorted that out yet? hah

Is your installation on C: ? If not it wouldnt affect you.

I did consider the Daoc deleting items fiasco but seriously this problem turned working PC's into BSOD devices which has to be worse from an individual perspective :)

I mentioned it in the Trinity thread.

Tbh the only people who look to be complaining are those that have put Eve on their work machines and fubared them.....sympathy - not a chance :) Although anyone who's machine is totally borked won't be able to log-on to complain :p

This is Eve - it's a harsh universe. The devs are trying natural selection by meta-gaming - that or trying to make people buy vista!

Its just shit programming - they were stupid enough to name a file as boot which then overwrote the boot.ini file - thats pretty stupid really...

aye forums sigs are funny. I had my ini thing deleted and it made no difference to me whatsoever. I can see why people would be annoyed though.

I am more annoyed at not being able to see the premium content.

updated graphics - you dont pay any more though - just download it and run if you have a modern graphics card.

Tried that Linux client first (classic I guess). Crashed my xserver and was the cedega-crap anyway so I didn't bother for long.

Have to download a Windows client, have a trial account running (once again) but I doubt I will play - I wouldn't be interested in waiting a couple of months until I can fly frigs properly again (in order to PvP).

I watched some videos recently and it's makes me sad how the game turned into capital ship warfare.

I have still some friends playing but I can't find anything I would want to try in EVE, been there done that - I have the feeling that it's all the same but just with bigger ships and a few 0 more in the wallet.

Maybe some of you can inspire me .

its gonna be less capital warfare then ever now. all the mothership pilots are scared to death about the new ships so they aint gonna use them nearkly as much as they used to.

Huh?

Not at all. Sure carriers are not as "frightful" as they once were , you might see one jump in and rep hostiles or friendlies or whatever. But the rest of the capitals are mostly for POS warfare which is zzz.

There are plenty of small gang warfare to be had or fleet warfare or whatever suits your fancy and your wallet.

theyve apparently torn the arse out of the carriers, and as was mentioned , the new ships are quite...interesting

Carriers are not too bad. They can carry (yes, yes) up to 2 BS of any size now. Only noticeable change will be that you can't ferry alot of items in a supersized hauler in the ship maintenance array anymore. Only ammo, charges that kind of stuff.

Jump freighter fills that role now.

OK selective quote.

There are alliance / corps out there who base themselves around newbies.

I am part of Goonswarm who are notorious for having newbie drives to bring in new players to the game and flooding systems with newbies in little ships swarming capitals and destroying them.

This is one of our best propaganda peices imo.

There is another image i am hunting for which has a quote from a 2 day old player.

"Two points on the moros" Moros of course being the Gallente Dreadnaught...that dread was subsiquently blown up thanks to that little 2 day old newbie :)

With flying a frig properly I didn't mean being a tackler cannon fodder :p. But you said selective quote so I got you.

(One of my old chars could fly all Interceptors, you would never find me in the same frig, the same setup the second time you met me, I wasn't predictible and was cutting through my enemies like a Stepping Razor. I liked to fly alone when in a frig and to face uneven numbers. But I also had the in-game skills to back it up. Without it, there is no point.)
