Well, admitedly I only looked on the BBC news 'channel' but in actual fact it just directs back to the Headlines feed from the BBC's own site. So if all they're doing is linking to existing content elsewhere, the running costs will be low.

Effectively, all they need do is stick some ads on the page and they'll probably turn a small profit. Depends on whether they've got a plan to offer any service of their own.

They are using google ads on the page. I had a problem viewing it in firefox, an didn't see the adds because of adblock, but when I tried it in IE, I could see the ads.
