HTC HD Mini Facebook problem

A friend of mine has bought one of these phones, but cannot log in to Facebook through the inbuilt app.

It'll apparently log in to Facebook just fine, if she uses the browser.

The app seems to be integrated with quite a few functions on the phone, and I suspect that this is the issue. A Google search turns up an instance where another owner had "opted out" of the "Facebook API", and that was what was stopping him from logging in.

Can anyone help? I don't have the phone here, otherwise I'd have gone through all the settings to see what's what.

Can he reinstall the app or check if there is an updated version of it? It could well be their facebook settings preventing access.

Its a brand new phone, I'd kind of assumed that it would arrive with recent-ish software but of course that isn't always the case.

What setting in Facebook would need to be changed? I don't recall having to do anything to my Android phone to get it to connect.

No, but I have had problems connecting when facebook update their site, the apps need updating as the get locked out. Tell him to check his privacy settings and application settings.

Well she managed to fix it, she isn't sure what she did but I think she either installed the latest version, or somehow gave it a kick so it allowed the mobile to access FB.

She's happy anyway.
