To those who don't like it -- your choice but I fail to see why liking it makes us losers. Ok its a kids book but I, for example, read a very wide range of books from the classics to kids books -- called having an open mind

It isn't a 'kids'' book per se (imho), it's a fantasy book. The problem being that anything like this is pegged by those without a clue (no offence lynchet, not talking about you), as being specifically for kids - EG Buffy, Angel etc.

Whereas programs and 'proper'" dramas like Eastenders and Jeffrey Archer are more 'worthy'.

Like hell they are!
