How would you rate your dad?

My father has never been the greatest dad, but he's more like a friend to me, a really nice guy to talk to etc etc. My mom and dad split up when i was about 4, so my mother ended up raising me on her own. While my dad almost never sees
(changed that now tho)
He's truly a person i look up to

hehe, for me, im its very similar to Adonix My parents split when i was 4 years old, i moved from Sao Paulo in Brazil to here in London, and my mother also raised me by herself (despite her terrible cooking! hehe ) It was really difficult for my Dad that i was far away, but he agreed it would be great in terms of opportunities for the future. I see him like, 3 times a year, hes the most gentle soul, at the same time the best football player i have ever played with, with a passion for driving + sports ^^ He really is my hero.

I also agree with Tam, was fascinated to read about some people and their parents, i feel so lucky. A lot of admiration to some of you.

My parents divorced when I was still a baby and my mother got remarried. I called that guy dad and loved him to bits. But he died a couple of years back and even though it was a huge loss for me I didn't really lose my father because he was still there.

Later I moved in with him a couple of years because he lived closer to university then my mother and we really bonded. He's helped me through some rough patches and I wouldn't be where I am without him.

Greatest man in the world by a long shot and probably one of two people in the world I'd give my life for in a heartbeat. The other one being my sister.

I grew up with no male influence in my life at all, my father left when he discovered my mother was pregnant.

I do sometimes think about how much I might have missed, but I always come away thinking I have turned out good anyways.

Im the same. But he left for the better good. Sorry to hear he left in such a way. But my life has been soo much greaeter just being raised by my mum

My dad's also one of my best mates, I go out for a pint with him, some times eat out or the pics, he's got exactly the same humour as me and quite similar interests, he's very patient with things but in most scenarios has a short fuse.

My dad's my dad but also my mate, best way to be I think.

I think ive got to the age where i really appreciate my dad, i mean hes approaching his 60's now and hes been working since he was 16, but still tirelessly goes out to work to provide for our family. He gets annoyed sometimes with my lazyness and i think grrr damn him but hes gives up so much of his time in the past and present to take me to matches or cart me around the country for various reasons.

Also seeing him with my new baby niece is quite an eye opener, hes very good with small children and was apprently equally active when i was young.

Think you have to grow through your adolesent years to see how fortunate you are with your parents.

Only thing i dont like is..... hes still stronger than me! dammit
