RTFM - Read The Fucking Manual ;)

you can record demos, err, type record filename to record then play demoname.dem to replay it. Unfortunately demos are quite buggy in CS, but you should be able to get it to work eventually.

Yeah demo's are nearly bug free now. And they are also smaller, measuring in at 1meg/sec and zip down to 25% of their original size :)

I must now play the Devils Advocate and ask...

Why the buggering hell do u want to record your games?

Relive your glorious victories/moments of unbelievable stupidity???

Invite your mates round for a few beers, pizza and a video of you running around, capping indiscriminately and typing "lol" whilst dead??

Just asking.

:p

I record demo's of clan wars, in extreme cases its to prove/disprove cheating, but most of the time to share with the other clan. It provides many a laugh.

Also i record demo's for this purpose, Cloud's Cs demo site:

Well I go to an alright school. It is very good, Sevenoaks School. My boarding house is a load of shit, the girls in my house r slags. But the day school is good. Im glad that i went to boarding school rather than the school in the place that i live as it's quality of teaching is arse. Neway if i didnt go i wouldnt have met loads of people who I really like, if u get ma drift uhhuh, ;)
But otherwise, YES it is absolute bollox. Im glad i went tho.

I'm totally unamused...everytime I record a demo...then go to play it later, it loads, the console starts to scroll up then it crashes. GPF box appears, and I'm back to the desktop (albeit at the wrong res)

Chetan, you seem to record/view a lot of demos...any suggestions?

My mate had the same thing when he was recording a demo. I think the solution is to type 'stop' in the console when your done (eg when the score screen is displayed or whatever), and that should hopefully sort it out.

So to start the demo type "record xxx.dem" where xxx=name of the demo.

Then when you done type "stop".

Let me know if that solves it.

Try this, report back:

- Start the game and connect to a server.
- Bring down the console and type "record <demoname>"
- Play your game.
- When you've finished, bring down the console and type "stop"
- Disconnect from the server, type "playdemo <demoname>"
- Watch your demo

Check the PC Game demo commands section as well - invaluable resource.

Perplex, dear chap, do me a favour and calm yourself down, have a nice herbal tea or something. I was replying to the chap just above my post, I think his name was dog_dough and he said "Ok being the retarded retard i am i still aint got any idea how to record demos, if ne1 knew a webpage or something that gave full instructions that would help.".

That's why I posted a really basic and simple explanation of what to do. I hope this mollifies you somewhat, and that you have sucess with your anger management classes.

Dean

P.S. Apology not required, and definately not expected.

Well maybe this will serve as a sharp and poignant reminder as to why you should make your posts less ambiguous, Morpheus (<---- that should serve as a slight hint as to who this response is intended for)

Fair point though, I did bite both of your heads off, it's been one of those days. Apology offered.

P.S. It's definitely

I posted my comment after the person asking the question. That appears to be how threads work. You flew off the handle and assumed all the recent comments were directed at you.

No, really - you acted very badly. I was trying to help someone out in a really clear and simple manner, and you totally overreacted.

By the way, spelling flames are low, and weak. But thanks, I'll remember that in future, always willing to take aboard advice. Unlike some.

Errrrm, you still don't get it do you. Direct posts aimed at someone with a slight visual cue, Morpheus. (ie: their name)

Of course you reply after peoples posts...otherwise you would be psychic, but some people reply much later than others.

Again, ambiguity son, ambiguity.

Generally if people reply to posts that are much futher up, they use quotes to make the direction clear. Mine was exactly after a request for help. Either way, it was useful, simple information, and didn't warrant the kicking you gave it.

You flew off the handle, totally overreacted, and now you are back on the defensive. "pld", as they say.

Perplex is a short tempered fool. He's never wrong either, really arrogant, and just an asshole most of the time :|
