more here:A 27 year-old electrical engineer from Flint, Michigan, USA has been crucified for cheating at the online game Roma Victor.
The bloke who goes by the handle of Cynewulf was caught ganking other players as they first appear. Apparently ganking does not make you go blind, but is when you gang up on a new opponent in an MPG.
According to Roma Victor moderators, crucifixion for such a crime was too good for him, but since it was a first offence they will be nailing him up for seven days in a cyber reconstruction of Corbridge. It is particularly cruel punishment for anyone to be forced to stay in Corbridge for a week, let alone be nailed to a lump of MDF to make sure you stay there. However the Romans were very cruel, but fair.
Roma Victor is an online recreation of Britain in Roman times, where players live virtual lives as slaves and citizens. The game is in the final stages of testing and will officially launch on July 1st 2006, after which thousands of players will be able to live out their own virtual lives within ancient Roman-occupied Britannia.
Crucifixion will be used a form of player 'ban' within the virtual world of Roma Victor. The more serious the crime the longer you will be crucified. Some people could attain a permanent crucifixion if they have been bad enough.
Still it is not so bad once you are up and you should always look on the bright side of life.
