How to punish cheats!

A 27 year-old electrical engineer from Flint, Michigan, USA has been crucified for cheating at the online game Roma Victor.

The bloke who goes by the handle of Cynewulf was caught ganking other players as they first appear. Apparently ganking does not make you go blind, but is when you gang up on a new opponent in an MPG.

According to Roma Victor moderators, crucifixion for such a crime was too good for him, but since it was a first offence they will be nailing him up for seven days in a cyber reconstruction of Corbridge. It is particularly cruel punishment for anyone to be forced to stay in Corbridge for a week, let alone be nailed to a lump of MDF to make sure you stay there. However the Romans were very cruel, but fair.

Roma Victor is an online recreation of Britain in Roman times, where players live virtual lives as slaves and citizens. The game is in the final stages of testing and will officially launch on July 1st 2006, after which thousands of players will be able to live out their own virtual lives within ancient Roman-occupied Britannia.

Crucifixion will be used a form of player 'ban' within the virtual world of Roma Victor. The more serious the crime the longer you will be crucified. Some people could attain a permanent crucifixion if they have been bad enough.

Still it is not so bad once you are up and you should always look on the bright side of life.

LOL

Forget Relic Raids.

Imagine 300 Albs getting ambushed by 1FG Mids rushing to free a condemned Sorceror accused of selling his body for sexual favours in the Troll Wing of Camelot Town Prison in order to buy the third scroll for Atlantis Tablet.

Punishment: Sod cruificiction. A week in Mithra is worse.

Eww ! You noshed Troll todger, Sorcy ?

I've only really played R:TW without mods - although i did go edit some whatsit file so that i could be the Carthagians without actually dominating all of europe 80 bajillion times, or whatever you have to do. Like the games not long enough :m00:

It's also fun to set up custom battles - my favorite so far is War Dogs -v- Incendiary Pigs

Just get 6 or 7 squads of each, one lot of peasants for each side (what? You need an audience to get the atmosphere!!) and set the beasties on each other :D

Not me :(

Good idea but I still think GoA's warning system and extended bans depending on what you commit is a good idea.

I just pre-ordered, just to give it a go.
Atm its basic, it looks nicer than the screenies, I didnt crash once, but a fair number of items etc have placeholder names.
Combat looks cool, it does damage depending on where you aim the mouse. ie its better to 1-2 well timed slashes to the neck than 500 quick thrusts/slashes that can easily be blocked/parried etc.
It looks like combat might have some sort of skill to it as a result of this.
I'm going to dump it for now, partially because I dont like the interface, I'll pick it up for a run around again in a few months and hope its less clunky.
