The police in Leeds are having a field day with the smoking ban. Was out the othernight with some mates, one went out for a smoke. Then got fined by the police for drinking in a public place becasue he took his pint with him! The pub has no beer garden, and the little porchy thingy was ramed with everyone else having a smoke so he had to stand on the street.
Im all for the smoking ban, but i think that was just being harsh :touch:

Bouncers wont look after drinks for you, they are too busy watching for wankers msot of the time.

I just usually take mine out, been pulled once before. I simply said I don't want to get it spiked, nowhere else to put it etcetc and the copper was like, "well, dont do it again. This smoking law is all bollocks anyway!"

In this guys case it was just "My friends will drink it, won't leave it!" or "I can't be arsed to wait a minute for some room, i need smoke nooow!"

But, regarding, dunno about england, but in finland i can always leave my drink at the bouncy("Just remember where you left it...") or behind the bar, especially if there's a lady and with my charm

Policing these days is about targets and statistics, not about solving crimes. If a police division meets its targets it less likely to get next years' budget cut. Its easy to give someone an on the spot fine for some shitty minor infringement like dropping fag butts and its another notch on the crime-busting bedpost. Sucks but thats reality.

rock city kept me awake when i was staying in the hotel next to it trying to sleep and i was absolutely shattered from a day of travelling around and training and then being nice to people, so everyone that goes there ever deserves to be fined for disturbing the peace!!!!
