my friend is trying to change his cdkey. He tried HLH-CDC but it didnt work. what he did was he enterd a key, clicked on the csretail checkbox (he has cs retail) then clicked add key then clicked on USE key. didnt work

does anybody know where to get any other programs to change keys or how to change it manually with WINDOWS XP? or delete a key so that when u enter CS it asks u to enter ur key?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[tounge-in-check]

start--->run

type "cmd"

in the dos prompt, type "format C:"

Uninstall/reinstall?

Use the power of REGEDIT!

Ok, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software, Valve (thats what it is for HL, not sure about retail CS - the developer in any case), then Half-Life (not sure about this one too) and there should be a setting called 'Key'. Delete that and it'll ask for the CD key when you start it up :)

You can't prove a thing. And the swelling will go down in time.

i've always changed key via good old "regedit"
search for the old key then "edit" type in the new key and close the registry editor - job done

start > run > regedit > 'cause you know you want too!!!

:D
