I didn't and that's the exact reason life doesn't have a meaning. If life had a meaning - by which I mean, if life/history is supposed to develop in a certain direction - then either I'll find it out eventually or history just develops in a certain direction without any input from my side. Either way one shouldn't bother trying to figure out what the meaning of life is: either it'll reveal itself or it doesn't matter what you do.

If life is going to reveal it's meaning to you in a later stage, you might as well live your life while waiting for it. It's the whole concept of giving your life a meaning* which is flawed. The meaning of life is supposed to hold something universal and how can it be universal when you've given a meaning to life yourself? It also should hold some authority and well, once again this doesn't hold true for a meaning you've given yourself.

*(in Dutch there's the word "zingeving" for it, can't find an apropriate translation)

Mind if I ask why? I'm not a fan of postmodernism and most certainly not of today's "popular" interpretation, but they have mentioned some things which make sense and describe our society pretty good. It also has influenced our culture in such a way that you can't neglect it.
