How much is your shopping bill/month per person?

Just out of curiosity - mainly to see how economies of scale work in relation to shopping!

Mine is about 75 quid for two of us (at the very maximum) so 37-38 quid per person BUT this is low because of the fact I pick up a lot of reduced meat & bread from the shop I work at (as I do reductions 2-3 times a week) & I'm a voucher & cashback whore. Asda offer 1% cashback for all grocery shops through quidco, not to mention 5 quid each from tesco & asda just for signing up to them via quidco.

What's your monthly shopping bill?

75 quid a month for two? Man, I must spend about 250 quid. But it's nearly always fresh (never pre-cooked/packaged anything) and I eat a lot of fillet steak

Mine is probably around £170-250 a month, for just me, same as Scouse really... pay a bit more for fresh food some times, but it depends what is happening at work... if I am working late or weekends I tend to make sawnys and the money i spend goes right down (although how expensive is bread getting?!?!? )

Mine's about £10-£20 a week, depending if I buy 'treats' or not. (Treats = Ben & Jerrys, Beer, etc)

So I guess I'd average about £60 ish a month

Food for home is around 40/week, so around 160/month.

Not a scooby, but I eat 4-5 meals a day and a lot of chicken, fish and beef, so I am guessing quite high. We also buy fresh in our house, I'll try and tally up some receipts later.

I spend on average about £120 each or so on monthly "food" shopping but I buy whatever I feel like. I don't necessarily go for the cheapest things...

That also includes other things like dishwasher tablets, toilet cleaners etc...

But i have just started doing curries and things like sheppards pie which last me about 3 days and cost about £5/6 to make. So i could cut right down if i needed to

£30-40 normally, if I do some bits at Lidl or Aldi it usually works out a quite a bit less, mebbe £20-25 and for that I eat pretty damn well.

wtf are people eating if they live for ~£40 a month. That's less than £1.50 a day. You won't be buying much meat on that budget.

I would say I spend around £160 a month on supermarket food per month. Then there is the eating out and general snacks as well.

Mate of mine worked at a food processing plant once - watched a bloke put a truckload of rotten (i.e. completely black) cauliflower into a giant vat, which he then bleached white - destined for Iceland...

€100 a week for two if we shop in Dublin, plus I spend about €8-10 a day on lunch and coffee. If we get our shopping up north that comes down to about £70 a week. Either figure includes all the non-food stuff like dishwasher tablets and bog rolls as well though; I'm not sure what it would be if you only counted the food; I've cut right back on the booze recently so that's made a dent (especially here, a £3.99 bottle of wine in the UK would be at least €10 here).

Probably $70-100 a week right now. Have lived on as little as $15 a week back when I was paid in Sterling and the exchange rate tanked. If I had a car it would be so much cheaper, cant go to the big discount stores where a whole turkey is $5.
