How much for a MP Dirk?

And friend and I need 3 MP dirks, but are having some problems finding out how much we should pay for it. Just talked to a guy that wanted 3-7 P a dirk, which sounds complete insane.

Can anyone tell me the "normal" price for one? - don't want to be ripped off

Its totally pot luck.

The crafter might make a MP 1st try, 5th try or 200th try.

There is a 2% chance of making a MP, so take the material cost and multiply it by 50 and thats the average material cost before any profit for sitting about remaking for, quite possibly hours to make a MP.

Mat cost for an arc dirk is 208g 49s 40c

x50 = 2p 759g 99s 40c - before any profit.

That's when you destroy all the dirks you make. If you sell them back to the merchants you get 3/4 of the material costs back, which means:

Price = 1/4*49*material+material = 12,25*material

most ppl charge between 3 and 3.5 if u go for a set price some crafters charge per re-try liek 80 gp per try or so i cant remember

i have been lucky and got a MP made in 4 goes and paid only 400 gp i think ... but on another time i didnt get a MP in over 60 trys and ended up tellin teh crafter to give up and paying him 2.7 plat for a 99%

imho go for set price and expect 3- 3.5 plat to b paid
