sometimes dont even use the holder if i cant be arsed to put a new one on when other runs out

(i have clean and tidy housemates who do it for me) and when i do have a holder ready i usually have more important things on my mind when im on the loo than what side the paper is on! (can learn alot on the loo, from looking at your poo, the colour for example is partly determined by how much iron you've eaten, so if its too dark i know to ease up on the red meat, if its too light i know to eat more etc!)

Always remember: the shower curtain is one giant toilet roll. Use the entire length of it to floss your arsehole, then re-hang in shower. Next person to shower will rinse the crud off (assuming you hang the cruddy side the right way)

technically with any type of roll, the material should go under and not over.

we use a standing up holder though, so it goes sideways for me.

OUr new house has a seperate tiny room with just a toilet and a tiny sink, so the best place I found to put the toilet role is on the handle of one of the taps. Sadly my housemates disagree so my toilet times are brightened up by the Search For The Toilet Paper Because No Two People Can Agree Where To Put It.

Its a tiny room but you'd be amazed by the places it turns up.
