6th form is a total waste of time. I did a year and regretted it.

If you want to work in IT go to college and do a diploma course, you get more tech experiance.

You have to peel them first - skin comes off a bit like an eggshell of a hard boiled egg. They're a really great snack fruit as you have to put effort into actually eating them.

They're the human equivalent of those cat balls that you put biscuits in that the cats have to work at to get ;)

by the time i'm done peeling a lychee i think 'i dont want this'.

gcse's are not pressure. you dont even need to revise to pass (ie- C grade) gcse's. your teachers are only interested in performance related pay.

some really good stuff on here, the milk thing that lamp (i think) said is soo true, if you do get a hunger pang a glass of milk is great. I read something a few years ago about how girls my age were developing osteoperosis (sp?) lack of bone density due to them following stupid diets which say to cut out dairy produce, so there bones crumble and their teeth fall out and when they reach 50 theres a good chance of them being in wheelchairs, good eh?

whe you all say about cereal for brekkie with no sugar i have a spoon of honey on mine, its really nice and not as bad i think but could be wrong.

water is better that milk. not only is it zero calories, it actually solves your dehydration issue :)

i do believe though, as we age we dont need so much calcium as a we did as children. most bread loafs are fortified with the fucking shit. just about everything is. which brings us to a debate - is milk required when you are older?

i drink about a pint of milk a day. for the last 13 years or so. apparently that much isnt required and can cause more harm than good (according to a practioner of chinese medicine), who analised me. or what ever the hell it is.

Sounds painful :p

Its more important for women to have calcium than men as women are very prone to osteoporosis. I've upped my milk intake from absolute minimum to about 2/3 of a pint a day. I get the rest of my calcium from veg, eggs, and normal foods fortified with calcium.

Toddlers (age 1-3 years) require about 500mg of calcium each day (about 2 glasses of milk).

Preschool and younger school age children (age 4-8 years) require about 800 mg of calcium each day (about 3 glasses of milk).

Older school age children and teens (age 9-18 years) require about 1300 mg of calcium each day. This higher level of calcium is especially important once they begin puberty (about 4 glasses of milk).

this requirement declines in the average adult.
old people tend to be less able to absorb the calcium in their diet so altho they dont need as much for growth etc they have to take in more cos they cant retain it well.so it looks like becomming recommended they have a higher intake similar to that of older kids.
