When someone comes into bwadmins i feel sorry for them already.

They start with "Is there an admin here"

Noone replies hoping that theyll read the topic.

"Is there an admin here" he says again.

"Read the topic" Espy says

"Is there an admin here" he says again

"TELL US GAME/NAME/SERVER/OFFENDER" someone shouts

Everyone knows he wants a CS admin, thats all anyone ever wants, but we ask anyway.

"CS/BARRYSWORLD1/WALLHACk/AIMBOTTER/Player. I have a screenshot of his wonid!!!!"

There now follows silence because theres never a CS admin awake.

"CS/BARRYSWORLD1/WALLHACk/AIMBOTTER/Player. I have a screenshot of his wonid!!!!" He spams again.

"No CS admin is here" someone informs him
"Thats sucks, make me a CS admin then" He says
Silence follows...
He eventually leaves the channel.

That sounds rather shit to me :(
However, I reckon 60% of the times Ive asked for an admin, there has been one there .

But the ratio of shagging nice birds to munters is still very very poor :D

And I remember a while back there was only me and this other guy playing inferno and we had this crazy baby awp fight (not to mention the para,awp,knive and glock fights)...that was nice ;)

I am also good at hitting shitloads without them getting me back... i.e. walls, the ground, clouds and sometimes that bomb when I'm trying to defuse it with my gun :D

There are no CS admins. They're all dead.

But tbh, I only had one problem with getting an admin, other than that, I could normally get one.

But then, the amount of times I've been idling in there and someone has asked for a CS admin and got nothing... now that's a huge amount. I'd say about 70% of the time there are no admins on call for CS.

Most of the time if someone looks dodgy i'll just grin and bear it now. Of course, when I say grin, I actually mean bash my keyboard off the screen.

I've seen too many dodgy people turn out to be good and having a v.lucky day ;)...they'll more than likely be using an alias though..

Mind you there's this french clan who appears from time to time on BW who actually do seem dodgy as feck...but you never know.

I dont think I've actually ever got an admin...its quicker to change server :)

It does aways ammuse me when people come in, like one guy we had tonight and say "Admin needed suspected cheater, Barrysworld 8" Humm how much less info could they give us. CS is by far the most requested game for admins to come to servers. I don't know exactly why but ch3atan / Zapeth do have a reason for not simply making more admins. The admins system is currently undergoing some sort of re-organisation or summat like that (might have been put off till p2p is introduced (if it is)) which should hopefully improve stuff a little. If you go by the webbie there are currently 23 CS admins. Sometimes they're all AFK / offline, that's just the way it's always going to be with a voluntary service. In general I don't think admins get annoyed by being requested only to not see any conclusive evidence for cheating. Annoyance general comes when people do:

1) Spam "an admin is comming / here" as soon as the admin joins the server.
2) Come in to #bwadmins and claim they're innocent after being banned for having cheats. This usually ends up with us quizzing them about their siblings and then banning them.

I agree that what deady said does happen sometimes but not in the majorety of cases.

ZaPpeh's lone head CS admin now, I think there are only 16 active CS admins at the moment (the webby needs updating). However their are only 12 CS servers, there are 3 admins I know of that play Mon-Fri 9-5 or are around. The rest all go on after work/ uni and some play late late night.

You cant possibly have an admin present constantly under a voluntary system, and hiring new admins is a risky business.

In general, from my point of view the CS servers are admined very well, there have been times were it was a lot worst. Admins themselves are politer and friendlier now, more active and easier to get hold of (thanks to the #bwadmins channel). It will never be perfect, where there are zero cheats and admins are available for every whim. But having played on Bw for two years, and having played on Jolt and BY during that time as well I would say that IMO BW have the best admin structure in place.

Aye BW admining rocks :D and tbh you can't really expect more unless people are actually employed to admin.

Ive only requsted an admin once, on the 56k server (5 i think) and he came and kicked the lpb's straight away. Cool, a 100% success ratio for me then. :)

Ahh, loved that game heh, not forgetting the Scout, and the shitty Sniper weapons (fuck knows the name of em)

Its unfortunate that people have turned up in irc looking for an admin and everyones been afk, but without forcing admins to work a set rota (which is going to be hard because of the voluntary nature of the job) there are going to be occasions when nobodys around.

As far as irc goes, my computer logs in on startup and I leave it running in the background whilst I play games. This might be an option for some of you and could shorten the time you are out of CS reporting a cheat in #bwadmins (please however dont have your client join the #bwadmins channel on start-up and idle there in case you run across a suspect player).

Alternatively, I tend to alt-tab out of cs every now and then when I get a bit bored - eg when a rounds taking ages. To keep your cs connection alive, all you need to do is alt-tab back to CS every 20 seconds or so. If you alternate between CS and your irc client you wont time out.

Respect to the admins for what they do and for the times they have helped me n all but tbh I dont even bother asking anymore, its much easier to leave the server and find another .

My experience has been cool, mebe I just get lucky but 100% success in helping me out over the years. I was in there the other night moaning cos I got owned (and so did the rest of my team) a couple of ppl on my team then started muttering cheat and tbh I couldn't tell one way or the other and I didn't recognise the names. Anyway I went for admin assistance, got help virtually instantly, the admin then checked out who was playing on the server and was able to inform me that the players on the opposing team were renouned CS clan members using aliases. He/she (prolly a he but u never know ;) ) then came to the server and put in a better performance than me. So all in all I was very pleased and thx.
