How can you tell if a card port is pci or agp?

Seeing as my pc is about as good a chocolate teapot, I was wondering how do I find out what "gfx card" my pc will run with.

Im not 100% sure, but the port that my card is in now is a browny/maroon colour, is that the pci port?

if its brown then its AGP

Also AGP is bigger than PCI, most mobos of a certain age will be AGP. If it is AGP then its time to get a new one imo.

Slightly newer AGP port there I think though, but yeah, AGP slots are usually brown.

i've only got a pci slot and am having a horrid time trying to upgrade my card, everything seems to be pci-e or agp

can only see pci-e cards or agp, tried e-bay and other sites but can only find the same as i have (radeon 9250) think i'm destined to be stuck with it untill i can be arsed for a bigger upgrade

if you have a pci 16x one then use that, if not then use agp

the best agp cards around at reasonable prices are the fairly old geforce 6series iirc (30-60quid)
