Ring is a reward from the Mammoth hunt quest afaik.
I didnt complete it yet, as I got stuck on a killtask of 15 ytm's which spawn like mad.. (all have to be dead to complete..)

You kinda need a grp for it :p
Dont know if its random, anyone care to enlighten us?

For Saaug, I'll go out of my way to help.

Saaug, all you need to do is go there solo, without any weapons.

After you got killed 250 times you should get the drop.

Except if you go to a healer to restaure your constitution. In that case it does not work.

Jesus i been playing this game for over a year and people still complain about him. give the guy a break.

Saaug.. the ring is from a quest, a very long quest and you need a group for it.

the necklace comes from a named Golem in delling crater, Emmisary of Loki is the mobs name.. dont try to solo him he`s lvl 65+ again 1fg should be able to drop the big guy.

lol i meet saaug early in the game @ lev 17 i think . and since then iv always hated him . ppl like him should not have a computer imho ...

... hello dear friends... sorry to have been away for so long but my twins keep me busy
(still... :rolleyes: -> and when I am not with them I am only thinking of... :sleeping: ).

Nevertheless I hope to be back very soon again, retuning to my beloved Amazons of Midgard & New Era and all Midgardian veterans I have had the pleasure of joining in the last 13 months in Prydwen.

Kraben, the times we hunted together (with Numia and then Eni), also in the hells of Malm while finishing our levels and in the RvR times I always enjoyed your company... It is truely sad to see a veteran player go... I can feel with all of our SC friends having to see you go, but RL has no pity...

This thread got me very angry:

1. HOW can a guild seriously think of having someone like Saaug as GM ? (what has become of our realm...). If UW is in an alliance how can a council acti with Saaug being part of it?

2. IF someone like this becomes GM how can his guild have more than max 8 members (which should be all of his alts)....

3. If a GM of a guild has "secret" alts in other guilds then definitely a point has come where guildies should start wondering...

4. Saaug is famous because he surely is the least liked person in Midgard of all times ! He is because I guess ALL veteran daoc players have experienced his rude, offensive and uncollegial behaviour at least once. Unforgotten is fellow Hansi (when he was still in Dentists -> shame on u ;) ) CONSTANTLY leeching while annoying everybody in Malm.... (like his elder brother Saaug at the early beginnings of Spind)...

...and to conclude how can it be that ppl like him who willingly disrupt the gamefun for so many fellow midgardians is still among us ?

As far as I'm aware, Dimon and Germ were GMs of UW. I think Sauug kinda inherited the job. UW are in the Fedaykin alliance.

Shame on you who would suggest an entire guild booted from an alliance because they don't like someone. The squabbling I see going on between guilds that remain allied in many alliances puts this in its place quite squarely I believe, if peeps are going to be honest with themselves.

And this is the bit that might get me flamed...

I actually quite like Saaug.

Yep, I'm not even going to argue about some of the goings on that have happened around his various alts over the last year. I've seen them for myself, and yep, I've gone just as ballistic at times and have had several sessions calming down guildmates when they get the red mist after some of his antics. Um, after my own red mist clears :D

A lot of peeps forget he's actually quite a good player. Bear in mind his constant motivation is self interest and that everything he does is calculated to maximise what he will get out of a situation, be it xp, rp, cash or items. When seen in that light most (not all) of the things he does can be explained.

I have found that when I slow things down and talk to him everything goes back on an even keel and we can get on with things. Just takes patience.

On early alliance hunts Saaug was just as painful as ever. However, in later months he actually slotted in really well and his behaviour was exemplary, I think it was after he inherited the GM's job.

For a while I was convinced the account had been sold or loaned. Speech (ok ok, text) patterns changed, difference in approach etc, a lot of small signs that seemed to point that way.

So there you go. I'm not going to defend his actions or things he says. But look at the full picture before flaming randomly.

I will concede we have turned him down from joining Fedaykin, but thats because I'm lazy and like an easy life :D

And to finish...

I don't know anyone that plays this game or posts on these forums that is perfect and I've seen selfishness and silliness from players who have forgotten I was there many times ;)

Oh would that power the giftie gee us, tae see ourselves as others see us ;)

I know weve had this discussion before Roo but I'm afraid I find Saaugs behaviour indefensable. Actions have consequences, thats the way things work, the consequences of his actions are that people who suffer them want nothing to do with him.

I would safely say theres nothing "random" about these flames.

Youre defending his actions by saying that he's completely self-motivated - fine. The action of posting about him here can then be defended by our self motivation to prevent him from ruining our game experience - which is basically what he's doing if you get down to it.

I don't have a problem with that, Roo. But keeping in mind some people do not, naming his alts should not be an issue.

At the end of the day, I think it's probably a good thing and helps avoid hard feelings on all parts: at least you know beforehand what you may be letting yourself into

This I find hilarious: "As long as you remember I don't give a toss about yourself, your feelings or the fact you may or may not be having fun when I'm around, as long as you remember I will leach, steal-kill and do whatever I generally enjoy doing, then you should be able to enjoy playing with me" is what you are saying.
I must say I disagree with you. Indeed, as long as we remember he is a jerk, we can at least be prepared for it. That does not make it excusable.
And being a good player in DAoC is ALL about the teamwork. Saaug is a good solo guy, who will stamp on anyone and anything who stands in his way.
As a matter of fact, there is no need to even stand in his way to get a kick in the balls from Saaug. Testimony the famous post where he wishes someone gets run over by a bus, or the one to Kraben in this very same forum. That is uncalled for and deserves to be pointed out and remembered.

I am not even sure this is a flame, Roo. We have just named an other of his alt, so people know about it. What they do in the light of that information is entirely up to them.

I don't know anyone that plays this game or posts on these forums that is perfect

I think your right Roo - his speech patterns did change. He started being overly nice for a while. But it always does when its to his own ends, be it RP's, money, seal stacks, XP or especially items. I for one just don't trust him.

As far as Im concerned he made his own bed...and to use one of his own phrases "if it goes, it goes so tough sh1t".
