how can u tell somebody is macro crafting now? They sit next to a forge or whatever and a merch and set it up to sell the hinge to merchant every time it makes an item I would guess (like the instru trainer in CD). Well you cant put a merchant near enough to a spot for a forge/alc table/lathe so that won't happen.

you notice them when they fuck up something and stand dropping hinges on floor for 2hours or when they start dropping highlvl armor/weaps for hours without picking it up
or when they manage to get on wrong Qbar and spamming same spell over and over again with like 10sec intervalls close to the forge
if you are an active crafter and craft alot you have seen all that

Think about it. Do you think more or less people will use macro's now? The more threads you create about macro crafting, the more idea's you give to other people about macro crafting, the worse it gets.

It's people like you who are the #1 reason as to why the population of macro crafters is increasing.

And sorry to disappoint you, but every point I did in my tailor, (am about to hit lgm for the very first time in a craft) I pressed the button myself m8. I would never even think of using macro's. Don't believe me? I can name over 10 people who can vouch that for me. Three of them are RL friends, one is my brother.

stlong reply, mate..

I have four crafters in the 600'ish area, never gotten to craft past that. kinda sad, thinking about the plats spent.. hehe :)

But yes, the more people talk about macro'ing, the more it will get googled, the more it will get used.

such lack of IQ from original poster.. sigh.

i wont let them get away with it...im on a quest to visit EVERY damn house cos im nosey!!! ive been in most peoples houses so far that arnt locked...but if they lock their doors..then thats my idea screwed!! still..i can see why someone would want to macro... even if you do lose plats in dropped items...jees i remember doing alch on my skald..gave up at 800 and something.. waay to boring...they need to speed up the crafting time...thats why i liked UO so much...i was Gm Tailor in 2-3 weeks and it was fun killing cows...perhaps we should have to kill mobs to get raw materials...id have more fun as a tailor killing cows for leather and sheep for wool..hehe i know its a dumb idea..but lets be honest...not many people can suffer pressing the same key for 6-7 hours a day...more kudos to those that do mind you!

anywho... All macroers BURN IN NORFOLK!! for norfolk is the devils town!! he has many pointy forks there i hear!¬!

people already know mugging/murder/bankrobbing exists without the newspaper talking about it. However not everyone in daoc knows macro'ing exists nor how to works and what the advantages are off it.
90% of the cheats I know come to me via BW, if people wouldnt post them on BW I wouldnt have known about them and so would have other people who might start and cheat then. Off course people who are already cheating, might hear via other cheaters about it anyway.

I think just about everyone who wants a lgm crafter knows about macroing, its a bit of a cynical point though, I actually dot see the point in crating in your own home, its nice though (I have a house + forge + merch etc) but its a novelty. Macro'ers will still exist with or without housing. I did once see some druid constantly spamming purge at a forge, that was quite funny, he was there in the morning before work and still there in the evening, still spamming purge, I hope HE was gutted for his mistake.

some people might read about it and think about starting a crafter as they can now by pass the boring button pressing. But macro'ing is reasonably known certainly under crafters, but for other bugs/cheats making a thread about it on BW will announce it.

Ow and the house might have a Consignment merchant so crafting there would be the easier way? And as bonus no one will see you craft and wont bother you with why cant you make a weapon for me then :p.

And I hope you mean he instead of I?:p

who

cares?

Imo the sensible person is the one who uses a macro program to take the immense monotony out of crafting level 400+

I have said it before and i will say it again...

As long as the program you use does not change in any way DAoC as a software product, but just moves your mouse and activates buttons, it does not breach the EULA or CoC in any way.

If at the same time the player that uses such a macro program is at his screen everytime his toon takes an action he does not breach the EULA or CoC either so it is not in any form cheating.

and then you still get banned for running it as GOA does see it as cheating anyway, allthough it isnt completly legally explained in the CoC/EULA:p.

It doesn't need to be explained they can ban you just because they want for no reason at all.

Sadly, yes, we have all agreed to that part too.
