OK, so I got a nice pay rise (hehehehe) and now my partner wants to move house. Had ours valued at approx twice what we payed for it 8yrs ago .

Weve been to look round a few today. 2 nice ones. One is £15k more than the other, but it can get ADSL, whilst the other cant.

What would you do? Bearing in mind that they are both within budget(ish).

Not sure, but the only cable in our area is NTL, and I understand they may be going tits up.

First priority when buying a house is Cable/ADSL availability...

Then you get onto ruling out the ones that have no roofs, and are surrounded by pikies..

NTL are not going tits up, they have now successfully negotiated a debt restructuring plan.

Decided not to move.
Both houses had too many neighbours, the ADSL pad had 15 (count 'em) other properties overlooking its back garden. At our current location, there isnt another house for about a mile.

Having a nice big extension built instead.

No, not likley to get it either. 5kms from the exchange (which isnt ADSL enabled) Had the line tested for ISDN, and we cant even have that ffs.

Cable is in the village, but it finishes about 1.5 miles from our doorstep.

But at least with no neighbours, me and Mrs Wil can frollick nekkid in the grass.

Your prolly right, but its like Laz said earlier, even if I had ADSL, i wont get time to use it. What I need is to find something that Mrs Wil can use it for, then she will want it too.
