On a different note, I live in The Netherlands, and look at the route my packets take on their way to GoA/France's Prydwen Server:

That's right. My packets get routed to New York and back. Thanks a lot Chello, bunch of amateurs. Anyway, right now I'm throwing ToA over an SSH tunnel to my school's network, and from there it's only 6 hops or so. No lag.
Except for that occasional 'other' type of lag.
Server lag on Midgard ToA zones
[2004-8-03]
Hiyas everyone,
Just a quick note today to point out that we are aware of the lag issue on the ToA Midgard zones for Prydwen for the last few days. We have been working on this since the release of Trials of Atlantis. More information about this as soon as possible, just letting you know that we know.
On a side note, some of you are also suffering from normal (internet) latency lately. This is not something under our direct control sadly but when we can, we do try to contact the various ISP involved.
An easy way to see if the latency is server side or ISP based is to check the latency indicators in game (SHIFT+P by default). Usually, when you have all the indicators green but are having delays in actions such as casting spells or sitting, this is server side. Currently only Midgard (ToA zones) has the problem on Prydwen and as said above, this is being worked on. If the indicators are going on the yellow or red, then this is most likely a problem somewhere between your computer and our servers.
