Gonna disagree with marc a little bit.
I went to Vegas last May for a wedding. Stayed in the Luxor, to be honest the rooms are tired now, the towers maybe different but i didn't get a chance to go in there. We had a group of 4 couples in the Luxor, some got 'upgrades' some didn't and they all said the rooms were tired.
This was our 'normal' room, bed very comfy aircon was good, but noisey, we complained and got another identical room with a quiet aircon unit.
The wedding couple stayed in the Mandalay bay next door, those rooms were a little more expensive but much much nicer, "The Hotel" rooms were also amazing. The Luxor pool is ok, clean but not overly interesting. The Mandalay has a 'ocean pool' with waves etc and an imported beach. We nabbed some Mandalay door keys and got in one day to 'The beach' and it was very nice.
The Encore is also a really nice place but is super expensive, well worth a trip tho and a meal in the main restaurant, we didn't get a chance to eat there (others did) but there is a nice area in The Wynn to have some pics taken if you feel like it, indoor arboretum of sorts.
Take a trip up the tower in Ballys, the view from the platform at the top is great, this is the outside of said place...
Do take the time to have a wander up the strip for the evening shows outside of some of the hotels. We didn't get to the the Mirage volcano or the Pirates at TI due to high winds . Bellagio fountains are awesome, i recommend standing either right in the middle at the front, or on the balcony at the back, so you are viewing them from behind. Otherwise if you can be up the tower opposite in Ballys at the right time, although it gets very busy at this time for that exact reason
Just walking through the casinos is an experience in itself. New York New York is a good walk around, Ceasers and Venetian aswell. We had dinner in Ceasers on our final night, nice italian in the shopping area with a nice fountain at the back, was excellent food.
The wedding was conducted off strip, but we all returned to the Venetian for the reception, again excellent food in there, and a nice gondola ride through the shops
