My experiences of Greece have been awful due to them catering for the "typical english tourist" that has ruined parts of Spain and Greece....and I would hate to be on honeymoon in a resort type place that had been "ruined"

we've been a little put off greece as well, as we went to a lovely hotel in Corfu this september. It was unseasonally cold, very rainy and unbelievably windy. We want to go somewhere that has a little more guarantee off good sunny weather!
Plus, it was a bit 'britain abroad.'

I can't believe someone needs to ask on a forum for advice on something that is so personal and important. Mental.

Go to Amsterdam and spend the money you wold have spent on going to Barbados on coke and hookers. I guarantee it'll be a honeymoon you'll never forget.

Piss off Wazzer. Its not like we have no idea, we just want some other peoples opinions, and theres nothing wrong with that. People put way more personal and intimate stuff on here than honeymoon destinations.

He's right though, and honeymoon destination should be decided between the bride and groom. They should go somewhere they want to go, not where some people off the internet want to go. After all, unless they're REALLY sad, they won't be on the internet on their honeymoon, so us lot won't be there.

This maybe so but how many people surf the web for information about holiday destinations and read reviews? Is that not the same as asking people on this forum?

Thankyou Yoni. It will be decided between myself and my betrothed, but why the hell shouldn't I ask peoples opinions? If you don't like the idea of this thread, then don't bloody read it. Sorry, but I don't feel you've a right to make judgements just cos I've asked other people where might be nice to go in September for a Honeymoon!

Exactly -where is the harm. I thought forums were around to get opinions.

the date we are looking to go is 6th or 7th september as the wedding is on the 5th. Domiican republic looks lovely, but the whole caribbean is under hurricane season from june to november, so its all out, as is Margarita for the same reason. Thats why we've kinda ignored the USA and caribbean.

Hurricanes don't effect the entire Caribbean equally. For instance Barbados gets hit by a hurricane on average once every 27 years (last was in 95).

Traditionally forums have been used to belittle others and act in stupid ways. I wish to continue this trend. Where's the harm? ;)

Stop filling up an online gaming site with drivel then and people will get less annoyed?

Anyway I told you where to go. Amsterdam. Coke. Hookers.

Job done.

I thought FH was not just for gaming. Or does circumcision, fit women and political and moral issues of the day all come under gaming? My mistake. Russell is allowed to post completely random stuff and in fact, when she stopped, eveyone wanted her back and posted random stuff in her honour. So it must just be me you have an issue with then. In which case, come out with it or shut up.

Your idea that it was everyone is amusing, I suggest you reread the thread since you're clearly not paying attention to some of the 'advice' given that you want here.

Circumcision = that surgeon game you can get on DS or Wii.
Fit women = Never heard of Leisure Suit Larry?
Political and moral issues = The storyline to Deus Ex.

So all of those things are about games. ;)

*laughs*

look there is no need for there to be a fall out over this.. Bodhi is just Bodhi and wazz is wazz, they are colourful, sometimes amusing and sometimes just plain rude, BUT they mean no harm. I would ignore their obvious attempts to get a reaction out of you unless you want to play their games :).

Russell does post at her own peril and again the same thing applies.. after her disappearence I think that she has learned that sometimes things are said which maybe a little harsh but that is because we don't gag people from having a point of view... your interesting thread maybe considered very boring to others and vice versa. It is your choice as to whether you decide to tell them that what they are talking about is utterly pointless and boring or not. For me I just dont read those threads which don't interest me unless I am feeling particularly crabby and then I may comment.

Just relax read the posts which are relative to your question and dont feed the animals :p and if you want to retaliate then expect them to do so also :).

Mycenae, I guess Yoni is right.
Dont feed the trolls, unless you want to get bitten.
Its nasty ;)

There is a lot of constructive honeymoon advice on this thread tho..

Tremlar said to me 'post what you like, if people dont want to read it then they can go elsewhere' -and he is GOD of General imo.

Now, you will upset people with statements like that :kissit:

FH is pretty civilized and tame compared to many places, I would thank your lucky stars you've had a few nice responses ;)

Personally, when I find the lucky lady I want to go to Laos for my honeymoon. Obviously I will have no say in this but hey, ho. As Gaffer says tho, wrong time of year.

Oh, and it's land-locked :p
