Im talking about the kind for watching films and stuff on. Is the length of the room a deciding factor in the size of the image you can generate? Physics tells me it should matter but seems worth a check with people whove got one going on.

Most projectors have an adjustable screensize.

My bro had his projector set up at about 2...tops 2.5 meters from the wall and the picture was, when it was dark, home theatre enough and big. In your face big :D

Gears of war co-op campaign in one run on a saturday with plenty of booze for the preverbial win!

The thing about them is that after 3000 hours or so you need to switch the lightbulb, which costs a pretty penny.

Also need a nice surround speaker system naturally.

my uncles got one in a smallish room, quality is fine and screen size fine. S'pose it's all down to the projector really.

If you get a short throw projector like the Panasonic AE range you can get about 14ft diagonal from about 16ft screen distance.
I project a whole wall size in a room that is 17ft long using the AE900.

There is only about 8ft of distance between where a projector could go and the wall.

Might stick to getting a TV tbh. Even that is confusing though, im finding for example 10 different kinds of "bravia" with the same screen size and wondering what is different.
Im also looking for a new 5.1 system as i want floor standing speakers and not satelites.

Any info there or am i spamming general?

spam general or technical tris-. If you state your budget and screen size you want I'm sure someone will put together suggestions for you.
