I dont mind getting wet tbh, after all, its only water, so if I get caught in a shower I enjoy it.

Personally, I like rain, it brings a nice freshness to the air. And I like rain far better than I like sun.

Sun is evil........sun is evil and hot.......I hate being hot.

I dont mind the odd shower as long as its only 10 mins or so. After that everything seems to get grey and dull.
I rode 15miles in the rain the other week and that was no fun whatsoever(well parts of it were :p).

Give me sun or lots of real snow and im happy. Rain just makes me depressed that i have to stay in and cant do anything.

Snow

Now thats something I really do like - call me a big child, but theres something special about seeing the garden covered in a blanket of snow.

I love rain like we had today totally fantastic. I made a point of leaving my desk and going out to stand in it for a few. Torrential rain, massive thunderstorms and playing out in the snow really make me feel alive for some unknown reason. :uhoh:

Sitting in a nice warm room barefoot with a nice cup of tea while the rain is battering against the windows is my idea of bliss.

At night curled up in front of the fire (or heater) absolute silence apart from the sounds of the rain lashing against the window and the wind howling through the trees, a cup of tea and a good book. Thats what it was like in my workshop at my old work place nice and out of the way with nobody to disturb me, I got through the hobbit and the lord of the rings trilogy there.

Where in Canada are you headed? I spent 3 weeks in Whistler and Vancouver in March this year. The best holiday ive ever had. Snowboarding all day, drinking from 4 till 11 then doing it again the next day.
I will be spending a year in Whistler as soon as possible.

hehe, my cat is frightened of them. He comes upstairs and curls up in my room where I'm probably playing loud music which drowns out the thunderclaps. Cats are great </tangent>

Also, some music just sounds so much better when you're walking around town on a Monday lunchtime with grey skies, cold wind and rain.

ive been going skiing for the last 6 years in the alpes, and last year tried snowboarding.
was hard at first and tiring but after the first day i had mastered turning from one edge to the other (when the other people in my group who had done it before still couldnt do it at the end of the week ) then it was good fun:)

I cycle as regularly as I can, and today, even with the rainy start, I went out on the bike. I started off on my usual route past Man Utd's training ground (I live about 1.5 miles away from it), and changed to go down some tracks I normally don't bother with.

A lot of the area around me is large open fields, and today, in Manchester, the wind was really picking up. I had sporadic rainfall (light), strong gusts of wind pushing me sideways, chilly temperatures, and bright sunlight. By the time I'd got that far I was warmed up anyway, and the adrenaline was beginning to work its charms, but I couldn't help but think - life is great.

Now the nights are drawing in again, its only going to get better. Cycling in warm weather is nice, but battling through rough autumn/winter weather to arrive home, and sinking into a hot bath, well, thats just sweet. The only downside to all that is having to get out of the bath.
