I don't think that's too bad. As a gamer, sure, it looks horrid. But as a casual user(the normal people), that isn't too bad and actually looks rather handy to have a tiny keyboard at you while lounging at the sofa.

Also the space on the controller, between those two "knob" thingies, is useless anyway so this is a rather well thought place for it.

so x360 is basically a subpar gaming computer with a casemod.
it has xbox live, which is basically subpar internet with a different name.
and now NEW it has a subpar keyboard with analog sticks attatched.

i wonder where microsoft is going with this

i've made my friends take a note of me saying the exact same thing cause i think in a couple of years time, MS will have snuck into the Hardware market and pushed the PC out a little as people will be using xbox to browse the net and other such things, You can already attach a keyboard and mouse to a 360, and a browser is in the pipeline

Well my initial reaction was :eek7: too, but then i started thinking about it, took the controller of a PS2(which is rather similar as they all are) and looked at it.

The space in between is useless, it never is on the way and it would be the perfect place for a keyboard for typing. You can still use the controller as before, but now you have the added possbility of typing in it.

Especially in online "MMO" type games(such as FF i believe), this would be really handy.

Sure you could buy a keyboard and a mouse on an xbox, but it wouldn't be a console anymore. This is, after you think it through, rather a brilliant use of excess space and a great solution.

Only reason this is a "bad" solution, is that it doesn't look sexy, but lets face it, consoles could look whatever the f*ck they like, gaming is mostly a friends/solo activity, looks mean nothing.

well, that is correct but a plug on keyboard to the cotroller would be smarter since it must be abit heavy to carry and therefore make gaming abit harder :<

XFPS or whatever it's called isn't ideal, it has latency on commands as it has to translate it from the usb/ps2 input into something the 360 will understand. Mouse support is included in no games on the 360, and not included in the interface at all.

Browser in the pipeline? Says who?

To be fair, the keyboard on that pad is roughly the same size as my old phone (MDA Vario) and you can type reasonably fast with it quite easily without too much discomfort.

There are some aspects of the 360 that place it way behind a pc, however the 360 is still more powerful than most pcs, and certainly faster than anything you can build/buy for £200.
