I have a quick question for the movie making experts :)...

I play 8 ball pool at a very high level (almost pro). I practise at my local who has camera's all over the place and this camera is positioned on the table I play on. I have asked the owner as I know him very well if I could put the recording onto a CD and he said yes because I wanted to study my own game so I can iron out the silly mistakes I make and its easier to watch it than actually doing it live (if that makes sense).

OK now the question... Once he has put the footage onto a CD do I need any type of movie programme to re-run the footage or can I just use lets say... Movie Maker?

Would think that they are mostly stored in a way that can be watched with common media, like a DVD.

In any case, whatever the file format, it's most likely a PC can play 'em.

Did you get them working Amp? You never mentioned the file format.

Hiya,

I finally got them on CD from the club I play at. The good thing is when it records onto CD the application you need applies itself on CD too.

But I'm having problems converting them into readable/editable files that other programmes can use.

The original files are .VSE

The application that comes on the CD does convert into AVI but for some strange reason once the file converts I miss like 3 hours of play after the conversion has been made.

I spent pretty much most of my day trying allsorts but nothing as yet :)

The original files are .VSE or .DV4 ---- is getting confused :p

Also another problem im having is the larger file when converting it goes into split screen 1 on top and 1 below and yet when you open the file with the original application its fine... just when it converts into AVI it goes into split screen. I have no idea how to fix this...
