Nol had the details down pat, I think. Also, I don't think we get a relic reset before NF hits.

Xajorkith said:
1) Alb did Alarm clock raid on mid?
There was the infamous World Cup finals raid conducted by petty Mids. The raid immediately before the first Ardamel raid was Wildfire's raids (a power relic raid, netting one power relic, and a strength relic raid where we recovered the last relic from Mid), none of them logout nor ninja.

2) Aradmels (FoM) did a retaliatory log out, 11 am Relic Raid against Alb and took 3 relics. (Though to be fair Relic Raid started on Friday with Mid taking 4-5 keeps and and carried on right through.)
If you are going to write some kind of "objective history", then please leave out the subjective statements like "retaliatory". If you're going to go subjective, then put in the following: "Ardamel, after being tired of not having any relics in his realm for many moons, decides to perform an early morning relic raid against Albion".

3)Ardamels did a 5pm Sunday raid against hibs, but server crashed (no log out, but was a Ninja raid?).
Was both a logout and ninja raid, I read the plans of your esteemed leader.

10) Ladonna (WR) fed up with alb x-realmers did Log out + Alarm Clock raid & took str Relics from Albs (8/9 am Saturday morning).
Again, stop the fucking self-righteousness, please.

actually, mids never tried a relicraid after herbal did 2 successfull primetime raids. I don't think albs had the relics more then 2 weeks when you monkies retook all 3 on that alarmclockraid. so blaming x realmers = teh funneh excuse imo tbh xD

a few raids spring to mind as forgotten .. from the alb point of view ..

looonnnggg time ago when relic raids was 35+ but even lvl 19's attended albs gathered in atk odins .. and when the zerg set out we ran over a luri range ... forgot name .. but he told the mids of the incomming albs on irc ..

other RR ... much later ... albs raid on mids.. i think str .. then as some1 told here the carrie group fecked up .. OR bugged (sos was shit buggy at that time) and loose the relic at amg. Alb then hold the relic keep 1.5 hour in hope that the relic would reset back to the keep and we could grap it ...
(as i remember the mids was hiding in bleedmer with it)

but where in the timeline those RR's was is to vague for me ..

and about the infamous necro raid.. various leaders took turn during the (I think 15 hour raid) and Daivana,Cleric,HB was leading the last part at Relic keeps

allso some raid mids did on hibs was interessting ... vague memories here though, maybee others can help out..

what i remember is hibs power relic going neutral... alb zerg moving to mmg to intercept and have some loong hard figths vs the mids there .. i THINK that mids hide the relic in DC .. at some point hib zerg show up at mmg .. wipe the mids and albs figthing .. BUT the mid carrier somehow manage to run though the hib blocade and bring the relic home save..

As a small side point, Relics get reset with 1.70 (Less commonly know as DAoC: Frontiers) - 1.69 is the one with such treats as buff-shearing and focus shells.

You are all forgetting one important thing.... Albion failed several 10am raids on Midgard before they succeeded! And so did Hibernia on the power relics.

And I still remember Ardamel had the albions str relic in Bledmeer after we took it at amg.. and he dinged 1165 in tailoring at the lord room!

Aye, total respect to Killgorde, he knew exactly how to make things work. War of attrition for the win, people nowdays are too lazy and expect 1 day perfect raid everytime. When I raided mids, I hit them every night for 2 weeks(bar a couple of days).

It neeeds to be said Nol that the time Killgorde raided Albion things were totally different. That raid would have no chance in hell now, or even 1.5 years ago. Yes, it was a well executed raid, but the planning and organization was still far from those that Ardamel have undertaken. One needs to remember that you could use more rams, guards was much easier and the keeps did not report. In short - a hole different ballpark.

Now as for the first Midgard loggout raid that was the LFoM-alliance hitting Dagda with 45-50 ppl. We did it, cuz we wanted Midgard to wake up during the PvP-Server drain, imho I think we did fine.

I get the feeling that the majorityof the people that think it's ok, are the same people who attend these raids and are looking for some face, because they know they're too chicken/lazy to do it the proper way.

I see their pov and I think shame, it would embarrassing for me to sneak in to take them at 5am, nevermind the idiocy associated with synchronising an alarm with 200 other people to go do it. You get the relics, but you're considered the limp wrists of the server, and the other 2 realms feel sorry for you :D

No thanks, not for me, I proud to be aligned with realm in which the majority feel the same way.

haha, Hi Calo, Forum newbie, you do sound like a typical Middie. I couldn'vt sumed it up any better. WR justifications for the raid is comical.

Aaaah and how can i forget the World Cup raid, Sheer Brilliance and tactical Superiority ? or Sly And limp-wristed ? hahaha who cares j00 sook.

you people all forget the first year - esp first few months
Like Woody doing a runner with the relic ^^
Alb relic raids used to literally be a bunch of Albs in one place and someone yelling that we should go relic raid.

God, I remember trying to lvl in Lyoness and having to either suicide and loose alot of exp (before they changed the exp loss to be almost nothign) or run the entire length of Albion - no SI portals ^^. Very few people stayed exping the first few months when our relics were being attacked. People actually got mad if they did. Eventually, we started getting paranoid saying they were just trying to pull us all out there and ruin another day of exp'ing. "They" was usually mids :) Either that or someone was doing a hoax to get Trees spot 1 2 or 3 (which was the shitty one again?)

Aye 3 was sucky because puller had a fat chance of dieing on the way due to getting out-runned by the twees :)

Best one is still #2 imo, remote island and a fair spawn, and if spawn goes low you could always whipe on the Daonian Commander :D

Yup I remember that very well. Midgard was a very miserable place to be at that time, in part due to the (temporary) PvP exodus - though that affected all realms really, but mainly because we'd lost the relics some time before (can't exactly remember for how long but it was a month or two), no one cared about defending the frontiers etc etc.

That raid was a big kick up the ass and got Midgard moving again.

Thanks Ardamel :)

After 2 weeks of defending the relics pretty much every night, staying up probably letter than we should, being a bit sleepy the next day at work and trying to avoid supervisors eye when dozing in the corner of the office….

…satisfied having taken the relics in primetime and that a job well done and the boost the relic bonus was giving the realm were worth the continuing effort to keep hold of them…

…wake up a little later than normal on Saturday morning to catch up on all the lost sleep during the week…

…gone?…

…7am this morning you say?!...

…bah what’s the point :-/

Barry’sWhine:

“This is a 24/7 game we can do what we like”

“the people who did the raid were having a laugh to see how far they could get and by 7am were in Excal castle and just could not leave the relics behind”

“I would not take part in an alarmclock raid - but whoohoo we have the relics”

“the people doing the raid did not know about the agreement”

“Albion has the highest population we could never have managed a primetime RR”

Wildfire brought a serg to midfrontier around midnight(from Emain if i remember right).

Relic taken sometime around 00.30 Scandinavian time. I remember beeing only person in my guild still online. Yes thats back when people still had lives outside DAOC :)

There was alot of talk about the 1 hour timedifference between the Scandinavian base of Midplayers and albs British base.
Time beeing only 23.00 in England.
It has been an ever ongoing argument of what is primetime since, and probably will be for ever.

Personally i dont care too much about when relics are taken since this is a 24 hour wargame.

If mythic dont want relics taken when people feel like it, they could pop more relic guards not associated with keeps from 23.00-11.00 CET or something.

I've only ever done 1 very early relic raid on the hibs and 1 very early relic raid on the albs. The one on the albs was executed exactly 1 week + 1 hour after the albs had taken the relics at 05.00 CET (the infamous necro relic raid).

My relic raids on Hibernia:

I've done 4 relic raids on the hibs, 2 successfull and 2 failed.

My first relic raid ever was on Dun Dagda at 06.00 CET, it was about 1 or 2 months after the LFoM alliance had been started. The LFoM alliance was one of the smallest alliances in Midgard at the time and the old CE alliance had just fallen apart. Midgard was at an all-time-low.

We were about 45 ppl and far from all were lvl 50, we DID indeed start at 06.00 but we didn't reach the relic fort untill past 08.00 CET and the relic raid was over at 10.00 CET. The reason for this relic raid was a boost of morale nothing else, here is what I wrote on the FoM alliance board when planning the raid:

Don't expect everything to be perfect and if we fail, don't take to hard on it, it's just a game after all

If we manage to get the relics, expect to lose them soon again. But that doesn't matter, cause we're doing it to prove something. That we actually CAN do it! When and if we lose the pwr relics we'll go for the str relics, these are the ones we should hold in a long term perspective.... Midgard just needs a kick in the butt to get going that's all

We didn't think hibs would fail well over 10-12 times before taking the pwr relics back, most of these attempts were morning raids or night raids. Hibs often forget to mention that :) However when they actually succeeded in taking 1 relic back it was at around 14 CET on a Sunday, hibs call it prime time and I guess I do it too. Their second raid was when there were 200 albs inside Nottmoor and we chose hold them inside Nottmoor and not to go and defend the power relic fort.

All my other relic raids on the hibs has been on prime time, ranging from 17.00 CET to 21.00 CET and they were all on weekends when ppl have the time to play. I HAVE raided the hibs successfully on prime time with very hard resistance, it was done after the server upgrade last year. The raids before that failed due to my Internet being down the whole weekend and I had to go to a friend to play 30 min before the raid started and all went to hell :) Zone crash! The second failed RR was due to the authentification server crash (albs raided Dagda during that crash and took all the relics, but the relics were reset).

My relic raids on Albion:

I've done 5 relics raids on Albion, 4 successfull and 1 failed.

My first relic raid on the albs started on a Friday with keep takes in Albion, we held about half of the keeps overnight then struck at the relic fort at 10.00 CET the day after.

My second relic raid on Albion was also at 10.00 CET. Nothing special about it, very smooth.

My third relic raid on Albion was after the infamous necro bug abuse relic raid at 05.00 CET, Mids raided back exactly one week after + 1 hour. That raid was quite possibly the fastest relic raid ever done on Excalibur, first relic was home in less than 30 min (26 min?) and all the relics were taken back to Mjollner in less than 45 min.

My forth relic raid on Albion was exactly 2 weeks after albs raided Mjollner at 10.00 CET on Midsummer's Eve (biggest party weekend on the whole year in Sweden), can't say all albs knew that a majority of the Mids were suffering from a bad hangover, but SOME of them did knew :)

My fifth relic raid on Albion was in late November last year, at 20.00 CET. All the keeps in Albion were taken in less than 20 min. But albs had been warned and an Avalonian stood at the exact mid rendezvous point in Sauvage. That rendezvous point had never been used before and yet albs knew we were about the gather there. When he finally left there were over 300 albs in Sauvage. We didn't start taking keeps untill after he left. But even tho the raid was a big failure we had alot of fun farming albs at the Exalibur road :)

Number of relics I've retrieved:

From Albion: 12

From Hibernia: 3

Fact 1: Most of my relic raids have been morning raids, but only 2 of them were very early morning raids, 1 on the hibs and 1 on the albs.

Fact 2: ALL my relic raids after the server upgrade have been prime time raids.

Fact 3: I was indeed the first to have elements of ninja relic raid tactics in my relic raids, but they were NEVER implemented. Either the server crashed before we got that far or the relic raid went so smooth that it wasn't needed. Only Herbal and Lac has ever done a successful ninja relic raid on Excalibur.

umm few points about your last rr you took over 50 minutes to take keeps with guards reporting 250 on keeps so no surprise albs turned up. A large force of mids 8fgs or so was spotted at mtk after they ran over an infil camping there right at start of raid (hed already noticed huge lag from mpk)

No one, not one gm ive spoken to knew about the raid before hand, gol was in emain before you started and only suicided after 1st keep fell with over 100 on it, albs gathered fast you took to long taking keeps. Blame spies all you like but the reason the raid failed was bad planning on your part.

I know BC was spotted at Sursbrooke and that mids were spotted at MTK, but the thing is, after I gave the signal to start taking keeps they were all down in 20 min not 50 min. The reason we started later was that there was a darn avalonian at the rendezvous point, he just stood there watching in all directions, as if he was expecting someone to come. That screwed up the whole plan.

Well m8, you're entitled to having an opinion, but I seriously doubt you've ever done a successful relic raid and never will do.

So retrieving 15 relics on behalf of Midgard, which is way more than anyone else in the history of Excalibur makes me the worst rr leader ever? Back then before the server was upgraded prime time relic raids was quite impossible. Not even the hibs managed to do it in the evening. I've only done prime time raids after the server upgrade and will continue to do so, worst RR leader or not.

as far as I remember the late night early morning raids by Hibernia were not genuine attempts at getting the relics. Mostly we suicided on the relic keep, and you guys said we were raiding, guys even run up to the keep nude.

I know novamir took a few people, and I saw a few 'cos it was less then 50 and was mostly an attempt to get mids out to play. Then some Hib organised a morning raid which no one showed up for.

Be that as it may, I am positive you guys will keep thinking these raids were serious because it makes you feel better about your lame raids :D

Of course all mids know that most of these attempts were not serious attempts. It's just that after flaming mids for doing morning raids and the NO ONE COULD EVER FAIL a morning raid, it seems a bit hypocritical to actually try and FAIL. This goes for both hib and alb, mids havent failed on morning raids. But that's just me and we all know I'm the biggest hypocrit of all ;)

You don't know anything about me little Ardamel. I was part of every Hib Relic Raid on Mid or Alb. But iam more the Backround Worker. The Leader leads and i make sure everything wents smooth. Ram Supply, Counterforces at Milegates, etc blah blah blah. Just ask Noler, Nova, Jahar, Saadyst. Whoever.

Just because my Name doesn't shows up here it doesnt mean i haven't organised anything. I just give a flying pig about this.

Most of my morning raids involved 15 FGs, except for the one after the alb necro raid, on that raid we had 212 mids. Only albs have ever managed to get 30 FGs for a morning raid fyi. And you FAILED with 30 fecking FGs on a morning raid :)
