I`m a student and quit daoc to improve social live .... my friends kinda forced me tbh :p since i was playing saturday and friday evenings ,. Now i got a new Gf and have loads more fun. Daoc can be done with a good RL but it takes a strong person to keep things balanced ( i tend to spend all my free time on daoc and my RL rly got hurt by that ).

I'm/I was in the same situation Asharith. Since i quit Daoc back in, February i think it was :touch: , things have improved around me considerably. My social live has taken a turn for the best and everything has become more enjoyable :D. But i agree it takes more effort to go out and than to just sit back and make an excuse for not going out. Can you really say you'd rather stay at home playing a game than going out and getting drunk. I think not ;)

To me, spending more time OUTSIDE daoc then playing the game is having a social life. if u spend more time playing a game then u do meeting IRL friends etc, u have no social life, (and no, cant really say that meeting ur work colueges(sp?) at work counts).

so tell me. who here have a RR9 char or more then 1 high RR chars, spends more time outside the game then playing it,? :) and lets include a full time job/school while we are at it just for the fun... :)

if anyone can acually say yes on all of theese questions, he can very much post how he managed all that, :p

Don't have a job,
Spend 2 days a week on a part time course,
Have a partner which I live with,
Mainly txt friends, I go out now and then with friends etc, spend most nights home with my hun,
and I play alot of DAoC.

I prefer chatting, helping others etc in game, over RvRing and PvEing etc, I've put alot of time in the game, but not much to show for that but fun times.

imo playing DAoC is a form of socializing also.

Trying to say people with high rr or spent alot of time playing DAoC means no social life, is alil silly.(I've prob got wrong end of the stick here, but I like to whine ;P)

yes it is. but still, spending more time infront of the computer insted of having fun with friends first hand is just a tiny bit sad :) (and yes i spend most of my time at the computer so im no better myself :) )

and my "excuse" for not having many RL friends is that i just CBA to, i mean. why should i have the trouble of having RL friends when im perfectly happy playing games? if ur happy with how u live ur life. dont change it....

Many games have their hardcore players and casual ones. Instead of spending most of their spare time on supporting a football team people play DAoC or other games.

Visit your quite a high rr yourself and spend alot of your time afaik in DAoC :m00: but I guess your talking about the real hardcore folk.

I have many responsibilites, I take care of them but come to DAoC to escape an otherwise ordinary lifestyle.

Nurf edit only of 10 mins anyway adding this:

One day I would like to be RR9 its a superb achievement, Im proud to know a couple myself. I don't think threads like this which seem to have a tinge of spite in them are particularly useful but hey ho I clicked on it to read and post ;)
