I'm curious about something...

How many people here playing are RR9 or higher and actually have a full time job?

I work 9:00am till 5:30pm mon-fri, infact I'm at there at the moment "working" very hard

A ML8 RR6+ TOA'd minstrel, A ML9 RR9L9 TOA'd druid and a rr7+ infiltrator not to mention the endless list of other 50s I have.

The original post asked about work not social life. I assume the point was to see how many people with adult "life" responsibilities like a full time job, a mortgage, a partner, a car and so on manage to devote enough time to DAoC to become a high RR too.

RR6 merc. work 9 hours a day 5 days a week

Includes gf,friends and I wont show my car cause its a Volvo FOR NOW

I find it hard to keep daoc up with work.

And im now even high rr either so I just proove a point.

But then again if u run uber gank squad u only need 4-5 hours a day and u will get rps well easy anyway.

I can get 50-70K rps a good night rvring. to bad all nights aint good.

I am merely trying to highlight the fact that spending a lot of time on daoc doesn't necessarily have to mean cut backs in the things most people associate with 'having a social life'.

The original poster is insinuating that you either have to choose between having a full-time job (which in turn pays for the mortgage, the car, the holidays and in some cases the partner ) and high realm rank characters. Which as far as I am concerned is most definitely _not_ the case.

4-5 hours only?? 4-5 hours playing a game every day is a lot really! Do the maths:

work: 8 hours
sleep: 8 hours
daoc: 5 hours
---------------+
total: 21 hours

so this means you have 3 hours every day to do something else, that includes eating/taking a bath/going to the toilet etc...I don't think you have a good social life if you play 4-5 hours a day. But thats my opinion...

RR2L2 Friar - (Normal SC almost ready, need 1 arti, 2 encounters and 5 scrolls)

No other lvl 50s

I dont have a job
I dont have a car
I live in a two-room appartment (70 m2)
my biggest (working) telly is 21inch (with 23 channels tho I never use)
I dont have my TOA gear done
I only have 1 Artifact that is higher than Level 0 (except atens shield)
I havent completed ML2 yet (need 2.10 on my friar)

I play DAoC from 9am to 7pm, then again from 8pm to 12pm 5 days / week
Current money Ingame is around 4p total and some Scrolls

DAoC is a time consuming game and unless you take advantage of the quiet moments, you'll waste a few hours every week just sitting there watching your toon on the portal pad, waiting for people to gather, or waiting on afks etc...

Most players use this time to eat, visit the ladies room, make phone calls, shower.. even sleep - but that's not recommended oO
