Hibs Exploiting LD Bug Needs To Be addressed Now!

In the past half hour while fighting the same Hib stealther group I have suddenly had my Client crash and been booted from server. I asked in guildchat if this had happened to anyone else and I was surprised to find out that this is an ever more frequent occurance in RvR. Apparently Hibs have been exploiting a bug that causes other realms players to go LD.

I do not see any point in RvR if at any point you can be booted from teh server by another player and ganked while you are unbuffed and helpless as you zone back into the game. This exploit is potentially more damaging to gameplay then even radar abuse. There is literally no chance of surviving an attack of this kind. I have recorded the names of the Hib toons that were around me as I went LD. I'm gonna post them here as I think Goa should investigate what they know about the bug, if they themselves are not abusing it they surely have a greater idea then anyone else who is and how it is done. It would be irresponsible for this bug to be ignored as it threatens rendering RvR pointless.

erm this doesnt seem possible for 1 person to crash another persons account the only way you would probbly crash to desktop is

1. You went up against 300 animists all shrooming
2. One of you hibby files is corrupted and causing an error
3. Your connection is so unstable that any deviation from it will crash you out.


You would be better reinstalling toa / re patching ensuring all drivers are up to date then see if its the same.

Im not aware of any form of bug exploit that would crash another persons machine.

You can go LD due to a lot, just because hibs kill you when you come back in doesn't mean there is some sort of bug they use to make you go LD first heh.

yeah there is, when i was duoing with a rl friend he always went ld just before AMG where i always use shades of mist, took us a few runs to realise that was the reason to why he went ld, but as vintervargen said some animation file or whatever was probably corrupted ^^

Where there remains the possibilty that a gfx bug may crash my client, the circumstances are bizarre, it occured in different places at different times, I wasn't doing a similar thing like using proc or charge, the only common factor was the players around me and the fact i was running towards them.

I never could really believed this kind of exploit could exist if it was only me that has experienced it. Without prior knowledge of what happened a guildy described to me what he had heard about a new exploit and they matched my problem. The manner in which i go ld makes my suspicious too, my client disappears, my account logs off, but my pc remains convinced that account is still running perfectly fine.

My PC is only a matter of weeks old and has never had a single problem with Gfx card soo far aswell. Technically I haven't experienced a single problem with the ToA client, I have been playing ToA client for month without crashing but just as I get my infil RvR ready and go RvR for the first time with it, the problem occurs multiple times within minutes. My Isp is reliable and never casued me to go ld so frequently or in the same manner.

What am I supposed to logically believe, I'm aware certain exploits exist and I feel that I have experienced them personally. While it is possible it could be a technical issue on my side, I also believe its possible an exploit could be being used.

Like I said i don't know what is going on, all i know is that people have been going ld during fights and I have exprienced it for the first time.

Some say its technical and to do with corrupt files, some say its a know exploit, I just want to make sure it is not an exploit. A corrupt file I can fix, but if its not that it needs to be looked into. All I'm doing is reporting what I have experienced myself and what i have been told so people are aware, funny lds are happening.

Whether it is a problem with the game or the players it needs to be addressed. All I know is that it happens, it makes rvr horrible and I'd like it to stop.

Now if my 2 week old PC started crashing then I wouldnt go jumping to conclusions about cheating people zapping my machine. You do have a firewall, latest drivers, virus scan etc?

The opening to a battle is a time of 'stress' for a PC engine, its proabably loading in new textures, sound effects and other junk. This is when peoples PCs often slow down making them LD or encounter a crash bug in their drivers.

Believe me after playing DAOC for years with some people with frankly appaling connections I can tell you theres nothing weird about LDing going into a fight at all if your ISP is playing up or your gfx drivers are rubbish.

Try doing a complete file check, my BB comp kept crashing last time too, because of some corrupted animation file (I downloaded DAoC trough the .exe client as I don't have a CD-Rom drive in my 2nd comp xD) and it's fixed now.

Going around saying Exploiter this, Bugabuser that is a bit ZzzZ though, maybe research the problem instead of believing/spreading random shit.

Weirdest "bug abuse" Ive ever heard of, if it was true, Im sure it would be plasetered all over VN by now, and some ass would be selling it on Ebay.

Reading this it happened once, thats hardly proof and need for naming and shaming people. Did you Rightnow this, call for an E&E, ask anyone who knows of this, or do anything to officially complain, it seems not.

I do know a couple of people who do LD when being buffed (can be funny to do it on purpose hehe!), but this isnt bug abuse, its down to crap system / drivers / setup.

Yeah, I got caught!!! I manage to hack into goa's servers, target your account specificaly, LD you off the game. Then I hack into opentransit just to make sure that it will take you some time to log back, so me and my guildies can take up the proper positions to pown you as soon as you log in!!!

There have been bugs ingame that resulted in people going LD when something triggered it - be it spells, actions, etc. Those have been caught in tests and since removed.

It sounds more like your game has become corrupted to some extend, where your Hib gfx files are no longer whole.

I suggest you save you quickbar files, delete the entire game and reinstall.
