Seem to have a shortage of support classes at the moment, bards, druids, wardens. Mainly druids though.

Some dark elf underwater jobby, afaik stats and class options are unknown so forget about that for now.

Hibernia needs good druids, ones that can heal and buff a bit. Nature druids have come out of the 'gimp' closet and are more acceptable, but imo we need regrowth druids more than anything.

Bards are always needed.

if you want a mage then manachanter is best option for pve by far and is also possibly the best in rvr too.

For tank pick a hero or possibly BM, BM's are 'in fashion', but hero is still arguably the best tank in the game.

tradtional hybrid spec is:

50 CS - max weaponskill essential
42 Sheild - need slam
6 blades - enough to taunt n do pve stuff with s/s
39 parry - all that is left over

I have this spec and am very happy with it.

Current thinking is that you could sacrafice the parry to bring shield up to 50 for more weaponskill with shield and the last shield move. Or dump some more into blades so you hit 1handed a bit better. Personally I like my parry, It means I can do more than just /assist, I can duel, solo and pve very well.

Mana Eld or Void Eld imo..

Chanters arent as good as what ppl make out imo, Mana Eld is ALOT better, much more util.

Void Eld is the utimate support for a pbaoe grp, being able to debuff the dmg. Shame there is a lack of them.

If your going hero dont go with such high parry, how often do you parry in rvr?
How often will you go head 2 head with another tank in grp rvr?
50 CS, 42 Shield, 39 1H (imo blunt) 6 Parry.
The extra points in 1h spec certainly helps when your guarding sum1 and trying to do reasonable damage on the attacker.

for RvR we lack alot of BMs to be able to make good melee groups. Heros doesn't really cut it vs merc, savages and zerkers(!). And the amount of PBers vs BMs makes almost every hib group forced to go magic instead of melee :/

tho, bard and druid is always nice. but wardens aren't really that great imo.

You sure that taking shield spec to 50 from 42, will raise your weapskill?

Im in the same kinda boat Capricorn.... I just deleted all my Exc Alb's so that I could emmigrate to Hibernia....

I dont really want to play a mage, NS arent as effective as the other 2 realm stealthers, and Im never any good as a healer..

That leaves me with Hero, Champion or Blademaster. Basically, I want to be an Alb crushing machine.... (im not opposed to stabbing the odd Middie as well though ;).

Hero - Great damage, but limited
Champion - Cool Debuffs, but heard lots of anti Champ threads on VNBoards
Bladmaster - Cool, but not a strong as Hero.

Also, what are Druids and Wardens like for damage output?...

What do you guys think is the best class? (none of this 'it depends on what type you prefer' stuff.... I WANT YOUR OPINIONS!!

Thanks in advance guys :)

afaik Shield damage is based on shield weaponskill. Think this was in a grab bag not long ago. 1h skill has nothing to do with it (kinda obvious or I would be hitting for pants with my 6 in blades... and woudlnt be able to slam).

ofc with 42 + (lets say +15 for rr5) shield = 57 shield, rasing your shield skill more to say 65 isnt going to make a lot more difference due to diminishing returns above 50 but I guess it has some impact.
