As for bards... It seems that it is hard to find a good bard nowdays :( I rvr alot and so feel free to ask for a group at anytime u see me or an alt of mine :)

lmao aye i see where ur coming from many a time have i survived 2-3 tanks on my back cos im sprinting away going tra-la-la ;)

and in low 40's exp is a bloody nightmare i remember being spoonfed banshees at lvl 23 and siab city at 33 with rhymes :) (hehe good old days) but at 43-46 omfg where was the exp it tok me fooking ages at them lvls.

quick tip for you less m8,

dont aoe lul after mez coz you *may* just break your own mez..

try lul,aoelull,dd,aoemez,aoemez, end heal (and if you get through that the invaders must suck cause they shouldve knocked you out like a dog with a mental illness by then)

Lull = insta cast, therefore you start ae mez, lull. Lull hits b4 mez and mez lands shortly after lull reducin time people have to recover from your interuption. (Like a sorc startin a qc mez after you lull might still land b4 your mez if u lull first. :p)


/edit and lull doesn't just might break your mez, it does break your mez. :p I have pressed the wrong button and done this accidentally b4, insta = can't stop it once u press so even if you realise already to late. Me: Err.... humm....who broke mez!?! Come on, one of you must have aoed.......phew think that covered me. Oops! Did i say that outloud?

i only use it when 1on1 with a caster lol it dont half fuck em off u got 4 types of interrupts one on 5s timer (single target lull) and 2 on 10s (aoe lull and dd) and also a very nice weapon to whack em with ;)

/edit and for the record, ive never pressed ae lull after a mezz ;)

my guild is terrible for bards we only have a couple and most of em arent high enough

I think its becuase bards are so boring to play in grps as u dont look at actoin all u do is look at mini grp and that its :eek:

Bards arent booring in PvE, they just lack action =)

Takes a special kind of personality to play any support char, myself had a blast exping (except on fins cause they lack the element of even the remote chance of something unexpected happening)

Yup, I'd agree with that. I don't have that sort of personality, which is one reason for dropping my minstrel (see hidden is basically mythic trying to force minstrels to play support) for something a bit more offensive. ;)

Just what i think, those days we got to 50 and found out about pbaoe was just great, remember when doing black wraiths with nafta, yzer, nilji, shliq, verata and you suddenly saw your xp move about 2 mm at once. No one knew what was past the azures in EZ, we explored new places and the knights in ez, omg was one of the best days in daoc, drops were excellent and nothing crap like DF where u can buy all you need. Siabra queen etc, oh well bring back old memories :(

Maybe i should've made another thread lol ;)

I cant understand poeple saying bards r boring and dont get action in RvR.

When i play bard its 100% action.
First of all the bard is the best leader so i often leads.
And when sighting the enemy the real action begins.
AoE lull then mezz, Play End, Remezz, DD, Lull on tanks attacking mages, Heal, Move around to get battle under control, Etc etc.
After fight make sure all stick ASAP and run to safe spot for rest.

Playing bard is more action then other chars i think...
But maybe its just my playstyle.

some say that lulling the enemy makes them lose their target <they have to reselect>
although this is difficult to test..
I'm not sure if it's been confirmed in some manner..

Must admit got to Lev 50 with Odon, got fed up of walking around slowly or waiting 1/2 hr for the group I was in at DL to move cause they just gotta have a bard ..

Also kept wishing the bard in the grp would actually do something more than just stick and play speed....

so thought ... Bard now that would be useful... so made one.

Now Karldin is Lev 41, 2 levs off Speed 5 and having played a tank I think ahead for the tanks ... do they think? (better had - ok so some of them think ... sometimes). Got myself Rank 2 Lev 7 last night too .. so got some nice RA's :) All for playing songs .. :)

Must admit there seems to be alot of bards poping up, but expect to see me running around with Karldin alot more..

Well I think bard is the funniest char i've played so far, or i just got bit tired of stun+nuke+nuke+nuke all the time. but dunno if i'm doing my job good, but don't really think it's that hard, maybe i'm just doing something wrong :)

Well i have a bard aswell, and it seems very clear to me that all the bards in the hole realms specc alike. I can aggre with the fact that songs are great and so is mezz, but i am of the oppinion that a bard should be able to heal quite well. So i decided to go regrowth and music, and basically give a flying f**k about if i had speed song 4 or 5, as long as i got long wind for foreversprint anyway.

So if you ever need a Heal/mezz bard with 3 in all songs then msg me

Gohlanchdir, that is a perfectly valid way to spec a bard. Especially if you are in a group that already has another bard, that is specced differently. But... do not be fooled into thinking that long wind will replace end song (or more importantly, speed song...).

I was thinking about 'gimping' my bard by putting points into regrowth and nurture ONLY, that is making it perfect in keep/wall defense situs, where someone else can cater the mezzing (and single target mezz is still there anyway). Bards group heals are the most effective ones in Hibernia (if you have extremely high regrowth). I will probably never go through with it though, as Im basically a bit sceptical about the whole respec thing and I do like to have the crowd control and a strong shout every once in a while.

I really enjoy playing my bard, it requires thought and awareness both to stay alive and to be of some use to my group.

Insta has made being a bard so much easier, and I am sure you will see loads more running around in the future. Personally I preferred the challenge before insta, where you had to time casts and interupt with lulls to beat Alb mezzers (never had a chance against healers unless a mage distance stuns them).

The only let down for me is that sometimes I would like to run out and solo and unless I find a blind cloth wearer, all hail purge, there is not much chance of doing that.

Bah Bards!

Always want to be the centre of attention, all that banging of drums and blowing of instruments....

Can't get drunk without thinking its amuzing to mezz every grey con critter in sight....

Insist on leading the way, and (god forbid) they don't, are the worlds worst back seat drivers....

Say "Stick" then insist on running around in circles until you feel like you are in a washing machine....

Dress really badly and think its "Stylish"....

Sing....
Badly....
All the time....

Make wise cracks from the back of the group...usually about how lame the tanks are....

Get drunk and think mezz-pulling is the way forward....

:D :D :D :D

And



We could not live without them and their funny ways!













Only Problem is that they know it!

I have the answar to this problem seriously Mythic should let EVERY char from every Realm move around at speed 5 and give Sklads / Minstrels and Bards something else to compensate their loss...
