Hibernia need bards....

Tired of using 30% of my time playing DAoC on try and find a bard. (And thats only because i log earlier than expected because of no bards at all)

Pls all newcomers consider a bard - you will be loved like noone else in RvR..

I found the same thing, and did something about it. Made me my own bard, lvl 42 (6 bubs to spd 5, go on you know you want to help ). Already useful in rvr as i proved tonight mezzing a lot of people and actually enjoying it immensly. Will be even more useful once i hit 43 and get spd 5.
I made the bard so that if i got in a grp without one i could just say, hold a sec i'll get mine. Therefore i'll never be without a bard grp. Tho as i enjoy it so much and the lack of bards about i bet my bard catches up and passes my eld in rr pretty quickly once he gets a bit higher.

Also it's the chance for me to prove myself wrong. Have been in so many grps with bad bards every time convinced i could do a far better job.

i tried the "there aren't enough bards, so i'll make one!" approach myself not so long back, trouble was i hated it so much that when i decided to delete my character i was almost gleefully taunting her image onscreen and pointing at the words "are you sure you want to delete this character? Why the heck u think i started a bard alt? Once Daigh decided going on vacation and there was no guildbards on...

Id rather hit things for big numbers than mezzing or ressing but, id rather mezz or res than sit on ligen/crim yelling "lfbard".

This is completely the wrong approach

Actually what hib needs is to not be so Bard-dependant!

Of course this is a major game flaw with Mythic. When you have a game REQUIRE a particular character class to play, then you have screwed up badly.

And to cap it off, bards are weak and puny in PvE. This class needs some tyweaking badly, and their abilities need to be shared to other classes to stop this horrid bottlenecking.

guys there's usually 2 or 3 bards kicking about innis from 6pm to 7pm usually low 40s in level though. Seems to always be the same ones as well

Personally I played a mid healer to level 38 and loved it, the bard gives me roughly the same overall abilities but speed too. So I'm really enjoying it (more than the nightshade now).

Be grateful you only need one characer for speed, healing, buffs, mezzing, end song.
In alb in 1.54 you would need a pala, minstrel, cleric and sorc to get all those abilities.

Agreed that bards are always my first target in rvr

I've seen a lot of bards around, I wouldn't say they are particularly underplayed, maybe its just people rushing to make bards now for the instant mez spells we get in 1.52

Yup, bards are rare in RvR. Started one myself, but then wardens aren't up for grabs either... so wouldn't really be able to drop from a group to get my bard : /

i think hib has a lot off bards there was allways loads in innis when i was there and seem to be plenty when i go rvring.so imo hib has enough bards.

Hib doesn't need more bards ... I have lost count of the number of times I go to Innis, and do nothing but cast confusion on the stranger, just to stop myself from falling asleep from boredom before giving up on finding a group.

Asking like that isn't as likely to elicit an offer of help as if you had asked nicely. I will certainly use a much gentler approach when I decide to get my bard epic done.

Hehe, aye, spot grp, run in, start ae mezz, ae lull, mez finishes, play end, run away from the unmezzed/purged tank now chasin you, mez some more, heal a bit, etc..

On one of the things i think i could have done better than some bards i've grped with, and do do every time i rvr is. play end in fight, next to mezzing that is the most important thing a bard can do. Tanks can do styles indefinately and the casters/you can run sprint away from any tanks that lock on to you indefinately. Far too many bards either don't know or forget and you end up with speed on for whole fight.

As a bard myself i found also rather hard to find a (good ) grp.
Most replys i get are : " Sry we need a tank"
"Alrdy have some "
" Y'ou're to low." <== Which can't be true cause he was 2 lvls higher then me
" " <== many ppl do't even respond

It is indeed kinda boring to just sit around , sumtimes doing a heal , switch from end to mana , get flamed for switching a few seconds l8 , your mezz didn't work , etc ...

I just sometimes feel like getting my purp Fins hammer up and whack those purp mobs just to hmm feel what's it like to do it !! (<:: Too bad everyone's mad at me for doing it though )
