Hib rvr (groups)

I havent play hib rvr long but this was a problem in mid and I still think it is.

I have a enchanter i love my enchanter its really fun to play with but .. all that i can use him for is to farm cash and pl.

Its hard, very hard to get rvr-groups, all people that arent members of big fancy rvr guilds are forced to play random grp's and 95% of the random groups suck ( no offence, to all other small guilders ). Every evening I stand at dl and yell lfg and msg ppl asking if they need a chanter. And the most common answear is? Soz m8, guild grp.

The best and the funnies way to play rvr is in guild grp's, and it does occasionaly happend that I can join rvr guild grps and it rocks.

But

I have asked and asked if i can join the bigger rvr guilds so that I also can have fun rvr most of the time. But the most common reply is " soz m8 you need to be higher rr ", but how the F can i get higher rr if i get around 6k rp's a week.

It cant have been Goa/mythic 's plan to make daoc rvr like this.. or so i hope ... somethings wrong when it takes about 1-2 houres to get a random grp.

I have started to exp bg1 chars... cause daoc rvr is losing its grip.

Well i am off to exp another bg1 char... my forth lvl 24...

I notice by your sig that u r GM of Divine, now imo ( and this might not be feasable for 1 reason or another ) why dont u recruit like minded ppl into your existing guild, and make your own guild grps ?
Thats what we did in AeD, and it was excellent, noone in that guild at the time was higher than rr4 or 5 , we played together every night, learned from our mistakes and generally had a great time.

I completely agree, unless you're well known you have no chance of reaching a respected RR any time soon.

My guild is full of really nice people and I'd reccommend it to anyone, but they do lack in the RvR area. (Almost inactive) Although we do go take keeps, these keeps are normally unclaimed/undefended keeps, just to get DF open.

I get really frustrated at the way mates take the mick out of my low RR (3) and can't understand why I can't get more RP's, pointing out that people make double my RP's in a week and laughing. This doesn't help.

I know people will just say "Get people from your guild and form an RvR group" but easier said than done. I won't mumble through the entirety of the excuses, but to cut a long story short they all translate to cba.

I know it's not gonna change, but that won't stop me whining!

My guild is dead

we where 5 irl m8's that started to exp together and we did form a guild called Divine.

But 2 of them left for TD, 1 got hacked, so its only me and a m8 left. Thats why we are asking other guild if we can join them.

I mean somethings wrong when ppl yell what ra's they have only so that they can join guild grps.

You have experience of being a GM, advertise on the boards for a new guild starting. Take names etc of all interested and go for it.

How sad, why would you want to join a guild that only want you if you've got lots of rps?

If you stand at ligen and ask for groups you deserve to get 6k rps / week if you ask me, my tip would be that you should get of your lazy ass and start the groups yourself.

Most people think that they will automatically have fun and get lots of rps when they join a guild with high RR guys in, what most of these guys forget is that the people in these RvR guilds setup their own groups, and succeed that way.

Anyone sitting at DL yelling "LFG bla bla" is imo not a high experienced player, and definetly not someone i would invite to a guild i would be GM for.

i make bg1 alts sadley im not 14 years old and cant spend all day playing and then going rvr ..

bg1 is a lot of fun but it will soon become boring ..

joining a "rvr" guild would be good fun but dont think most people have the skill/time to join

shame really there are plenty of guilds with 20-50 peps on em begging for rvr but due to numbers they cant always get groups in guild rvr outings as if ur in a "smaller" guild it normally means u cant play as much ..i think lots of the smaller guilds should just join up its only a name they lose they make 1. more buddies 2. jmore groups 3. more fun ..

sort out the other AS as CF is the only one right now worth being in and have some decent rvr

Well.. I spend most of my rvr time in those "random" rvr grps u are talking about. And as an epic wearing lw lurikeen champ I dont expect anything else. Sure random groups suck sometimes but if u get the regular druid,bard,warden.. some fighters and some mages together it usually works out fine.

made 45k rp sofar this week.. maybe not much compared to high rr guild standards.. but thats enough for me.

And tbh what do u and I have to offer these high rr rvr guilds..?
Nothing... when they have a large number of ppl with more experience and rp's just waiting to fill a spot in the rvr grp.

So what to do then? Well join a guild. There are plenty of guilds out there who would like a chanter for rvr. They may not make as much rps as Vengeance or LA, but u make some rp's, have a good time and to me that is what this game is all about.

TBH, if the criteria for joining a guild is RP's then imo you're better off telling them to get fucked

Most important criteria with CF recruitment, is that someone in CF ranks has a positive opinion of you as a person and not your skills.

Second thing is patience 'cos our GM's are overworked and their mom's dress them funny

It's a war of self inflated EGO's out there, although there are exceptions

simple answer to all of that:

they dont want to be a random grp..

the good rvr guilds stay good because they dont take in just any1. they need to uphold the grp balance, and capabilities, else they turn into ... another random grp.

same thing with joining their grp. most, if not all, rvr guilds fill up with own ppl first, if lacking anything, they call those whom they know well, both as friends and rvr players, to uphold the effecincy, in both capability, and fun chatting.

I´m not sure u have any idea how many ppl ask to join established rvr guilds and grp´s - might wanna ask em sometime, u´d be suprised.

best thing u can do.. set up ur own grp´s of ppl who go to rvr often. either just grp´s, or guilds. everytime u go rvr, call em. then fill up ur grp with what u lack. and there u go, u´ve got ur own rvr grp, working on getting to play well together, know each other well, and pretty much anything ur asking for. first couple of times on rvr will suck, as ur just a "random" grp, but it´ll improve fast.

how do u think the rvr guilds established themselves?

Tyka does have a point there but i don't really like the way it's expressed. "Anyone sitting outside DL yelling LFG..." that's alot of people who could go in that category and they may differ alot from eachother. I do sit outside DL yelling lfg but i do try to make a group if i see bard, druid + some other people standing there lfg aswell. And a quite a few others does the same...

The reason im answering should be that i, even though i yell lfg sometimes outside DL see myself as an experinced player. getting the almost 1.1 million rp's i got takes ALOT of time since i play as good as only mixed groups of people from outside DL.

I don't know English words for this but, please, "dra alla inte över en kam"

Well damn...I did write a nice reply going through all points of Tykas post and why it got my back up so much but due to tech issues with the forum it got lost in the ether. And since my initial post was me being succinct and to the point I once again cannot be bothered to type it all again.

Let's just say the last line about people yelling LFG being crap annoyed the hell out of me....as did all the other points in his post apart from the first line. It was given from such an elitist view point that when I read it my first thought was "What an asshole"...hence my reply.

1st point....Regarding the lazy asses not starting their own groups? How the hell do you think they manage to get even the measly 6k rps a week they apparantly "deserve"?

2nd point ...These people in RVR guilds "setup their own groups", BS? They create a group with members of their own guild who joined a bloody RVR guild in order to RVR....How difficult can it be to create a group in those circumstances FFS?

well i myself used to be in one of the biggest rvr guilds on alb/pryd with my sorcerer/inf. started my champ about 8 months ago and i must say hib dl is the hardest place to find an rvr grp and i been playing since beta before you call me a "whining n00b" or something similar. I love my guild though although its quite small we do rvr about once a week, most of the time i have to use the lfg at dl. and tyka please tell me when was the last time u tried to get an rvr grp at dl when u were in a small guild and used a not very popular grp class like the champ.
I yell lfg at dl, whats my other option? stand at dl and hope someone notices me?

Whine harder please? Of course no one is going to invite you into groups, when you're playing a (no name) champ, when there's so many more essentional classes needed... Go reroll another class or go back to alb/pryd if you can't face not getting a group server on a platter for you... in particular when you cba making your own groups.

Erm, champs are good in RvR in my experience...And he's not asking to be handed a group on a silver platter, he's explaining his experiences so STFU shrye and get your nose from up tykas arse!
