hi all - To CS BW admins

hallo all!

Im a bit new to the whole gaming scene. Ive been playing CS for a while now so I thought I would get more involed in it all.

Just got a quick question, some game compaines like yourselfs offer servers which are for people with pings below 100 and for people above 200, I was wondering if you was thinking of provideing a server for CS for people above a 200 ping for example.

Being a programmer myself, I can see the arguments against this, due the the wonderful netcode given high ping players a chance, however with ADSL and more people getting it, them players tend to get pings below 50! Its not so bad playing against cable users as pings of 100 dont make much diff but when someone has a ping of 50 and me 200 it does make a little difference!

I will admit sometimes, I see high ping players still winnning, but these are the class players. I just play now and then for fun and really cant play on servers with 50 ping players as I always die!
So any chance of getting at least one server for us 200 ping players?

This is impossible with the HalfLife engine. There is no server side commands that will allow it to place checks on pings in that way.

I'm on cable and my ping is usually MUCH better than people I know on DSL.

I used to play better on 56k

Heh, don't get me wrong...I still rip through servers like a whirling dervish, it's just that I did it with a little more gusto on dialup

Its easier on a 56k definetly. Anyway before posting this thread you should have searched for the same identical thread posted by silk he did not write his views as, well, well he just did not use english ok.

Maybe you are silk, maybe u went on an english course or something?

Anyway i will find the other thread and give it a little bump so u can read that in stead of this, ohh actually let me link to it instead....jeez i enjoyed that thread

True True, I'm not saying I play terribly now however the game doesnt have the same satisfaction as it did. No longer can I get the buzz of killing an LPB and then gloating "Your connection wont help you against me"
