Recently around my area quite a few cars have been stolen.

As I havn't been feeling well I havn't hardly slept and lastnight I woke up about 5am with a blocked up nose, so I went to the toilet, blew my nose and went back to my bedroom. But before I got back in bed I just decided to look at the bedroom window (god knows why) and I saw a guy in a driveway opposite to my house and then saw him walk accross diaganally to 2 doors left from my house. As I couldn't see where he went I stupidly opened my window to look and see what he was upto and he was looking at cars parked, pulling door handles, looking through car/house windows. He then went to next door left side and did exactly the same thing. By this time I think shit maybe I should shut my window so he doesn't notice me watching him. Lucky enough he didn't see me and carried on what he was doing and he walked up to my car checked the door handles and then went off. At this time I phoned the Police and told them what I saw but I couldn't give a good description as it was dark. Within a 1 to 5 mins the Police arrived and caught a suspect who was in the same street not far down my road at that time (a hoody because thats what I told the Police).

A few phone calls during the night back from the Police asking me questions like if the guy walked past your house could you tell us if it was the guy or not and I replied sure. So the Police officers with this guy walked past my house and I said 'I wasn't so sure' as he looked slightly different, little bit older than what I thought at first but he had similar clothing.

So a few things goto mind. A guy in the wrong place at the wrong time (But why would he be walking at 5am wearing a hoody) or it could of been a group of them wearing similar stuff and the person who I saw they didn't catch but caught his friend who was working with him.

So basically as I wasn't sure I couldn't really say 'yes it was him' as I was pretty sure the guy that checked my car was around 15 ish but the guy the Police had was in his early 20s. Now put yourself in my position the visibility wasn't too great as I just woken up and I was looking at night time through a curtain.

Obviously I dont know what the Police got from him but I'm kinda worried that he may have seen me and therefor the Police let him go because they might not have enough evidence to charge him.

Its hard to write down exactly what went but I'm sure you guys will figure it out.

Now did I do the right thing and hoping the Police got enough to charge him.

All you can be hopefull for is he doesn't come around your street again because the Police caught him there. Did the right thing imo, your still a **** though.

Agreed it could have been someone else, I work 22-06 so I might be walking around looking for an exchange at some silly hours. Though I've never really bothered to get out of the car to find one.
