HoN was free for like a year, should have tried it then . basically if you liked dota, you'll like HoN.

it is, however, vastly superior to LoL.

Neither is better than the other really, down to personal pref I may find HoN better than LoL but someone else may find LoL better than HoN so the arguement of which is better is pointless.

I find that if you are more of a casual gamer LoL would probably fit you better, however if you are a real hardcore gamer HoN will suit you more.
HoN just has a higher skill level and will punish you more for mistakes.
Granted both have a shit community but that's not a change from DotA really.
