Hero template for rvr server! advice needed!

Could anyone help me with the best rvr template for a celt hero? This is with regards to the pvp server.

Also a good template for a celt champion!Hope to see a few replys

The below is based on a good old-fashioned Sword 'n' Board Hero - if you're a pure spearo then...um......<shrug>

The only thing I would say you MUST do is get shield to 42 - the slam style with it's 9 sec stun is brilliant in both RvR and PvE (not yet found a hero who'll argue with that).

Other than that you need to decide whether you want to just stick to 1 weapon (blades, blunt or pierce - choose 1 type and 1 only) or to go 'hybrid' with one of the above to begin with and then adding spear at higher lvl because of the huge damage per hit they do.

I saw a lvl 50 hybrid template (Bedrock's ?) and I believe it was:
Shield @ 42
1 handed weapon of choice @ 35
Parry @ 35
Spear @ 40

Personally I'm sticking to blades and will end up (roughlyish) with:
shield @ 42
Blades @ 48
Parry @ 42
Although my final spec is a work in progress

And remember +items!

Celt is awesome for a hero. You have the same con, but better evade, block and parry.

Id say that a hero speced like

44 CS or LW
42 Shield
6 Blade
45 Parry

Is very good. Parry works better in RvR now and will be even better after 1.54 patch. This is nice if you do Shield first + blade first, then put your points in CS and Parry.

Alternative is to go
50 LW
50 Parry
and waste the other points.

In some situations you will be stronger but you will be more specialized and have a harder time exping.

Hiya ..

I would suggest looking at blades 8 min - as u at least get detaunt then .. something a lot of people over look for xp duties even after lev 50 (drops drops drops!!!).

Apart from that I think the suggestion you've put forward looks ok.

I was specced Blades 40, Shield 42, Parry 39 (ish), CS 30 odd before respec. Now went Blades 8, Shield 42, CS 48 (ish) (I didn't go for the last CS style purely because it is chain and has high end - so use eagle most the time tbh odd) and rest in Parry. Comparing the 2 specs .. well .. tbh in XP a Spearo sucks big time compared to a Blade/shield/parry imo, but in rvr the damage can only be achieved (at the mo) by going CS or LW. Blades just doesn't offer enough dmg to be viable in rvr.

Twist, YOu got my hybrid template right! I just have changed my pref- template but not the guide. The one I posted is also slightly more offensive than my guide template.

Toki, for your template with 50 in 2H, i would go for LW instead of CS, as the lvl 50 style for LW is VERY good! ( I would go LW but didnt want to spend that many points. ) Otherwise its a good offensive template.

Odon, I agree about detaunt. actually , "my" template gives you 10 in blade. ( not 6 as I miss-typed. ). Detaunt is very good at times when you have to move aggro back and forth between tanks.

i like your spec, but i would also rather get 50 LW then 50 CS if you fullspec the line.

42 shield and 6 blade is adviced, no need to get more =)
If not, nevermind the shield, get annihulation and raise 50 parry/50lw 26 shield (for defend and protect, eventually engage)

I am finding LW much better than CS... luv the styles, luv the look of it.. Luv the weapons available (dont fancy chances on getting 100% dragon spear).....

hmm.

my spec is 50 lw (annihalation)
42 shield (slam, engage,guard easily modifyed to 50 with itams and rr. 50 shield > pve)
39 parry (basic defence in rvr when using lw also very nice for pve easy to get 50+ with itams and rr)
6 bades (leftovers), tount in pve i will tount with lw then switch to shield/blades for tanking then if i need detounts use lw for thos to as they are better)

made this spec @ day 1 and still have it. and i luve it.

Guys any views on going for a blademaster?, i got a feeling they are the worst tank class to play alondg side mercs.
