As for Muslims being law abiding citizens well yes of course..except you could be the freakin piller of society, help grannies across the road and never speed
..but, what if you knew of a friends son or a distant relative who was getting involved with extremists, what if he started behaving strangely and started showing signs that he was going off the rails, would you shop him?

Cos if you don't you are commiting a grave crime against society, these people can't keep their thoughts from everyone, SOMEONE knows, just like the IRA most people knew who they were but just kept quiet either through honour or fear.

Actually, it says something along the lines of "do not suffer a witch to live" which is just the same (technically) as "burn witches".

Also, about the crapola regarding armed police, need I say anything more than "chair leg"? No, I didn't think so. Nobody is infallible and armed police are just as weak as the rest of humanity ... except they have guns.

The guys who blow themselves up see it as a honour. They tend to keep it from their families although quite a few of them (uncles mainly) are quite likely to be proud of suicidal brethren. Suicide bombing is likely to be a generational thing more than an educational thing as you will get families with deep-rooted grudges against the west who bring up their offspring to carry on the hatred. Maybe some of these kids will grow out of the hatred and integrate into this mishmash society we live but a few are going to carry on the hate. Do you know how hard it is to remove predjudices instilled through family upbringing? If it was as easy as some mullah (spiritual leader? late, I'm drunk, not entirely sure) saying "no!! bad! don't blow people up!" then we wouldn't be having this conversation. This isn't something that will blow over in our lifetimes or our children's lifetimes so ... ~shrug~ don't get your hopes up.

I for one would ask any Arab with a big jacket or a rucksack to prove he isn't a bomber if he want's to get on with me, of course if he was he would just press the button, so basically fuck off and don't even bother turning up at the station.

When offering a service you have the right to refuse people from that service if they refuse to be searched. Its the same with any high street shop. If i had any doubts about anyone i was traveling with to be honest i wouldn't make a scene i'd just quietly move and inform the police.

I really hope it doesnt come to that where every one who has a different origen is under suspicion, i find that truely upsetting (there was a couple over the road from me runs the corner shop and they used to tell people they were egyptian not indian because of the severe bad reaction indian/pakastanis get from some uneducated arse holes).

Tbh if you live in the uk (or any country) and you feel that place is your home you should (should) feel safe here, you should not feel isolated, persecuted and at risk.

Personally if the police wanted to search me i wouldnt have a problem (i'd be a bit embaressed but that would be about it) because i know i have nothing to hide but then im a white female if i was a different colour i'd probably feel more than a little angry and upset at being singled out its that thing of "dont tar me with the same brush chum!".

also one point someone else made here was about people all closing ranks and not coming foward with information when a member of their community does something like this, any one remember those 2 young black girls that were killed in a drive by shooting in birmingham? the black community didnt want to point the finger and expose those among them who were pissing about with guns and gangs and look what happened. then the community leaders and some parents decided enough was enough and exposed them, dont know what happened then but when you take the secrecy and fear away from these groups they lose their power, Ok to the suicide bombings were a religions statement but hell if they were anything to do with me i'd tuen them in, if you chose to live in a country and be part of the community you have a responsibility to take care of the people around you and if you know someone close to you is about to jepardise your status (dont mean preonal status here but look at the negative impact on the whole muslim community) its up to you to protect it and others, protect the innocent, you can get more accomplished with words that violence because that only leads to more violence.
