friends of the savvy of www, lend me thine ears! (or eyes, perhaps more precisely). I am utterly devoid of inspiration, but am slightly in the mood to be afiddling with my site's layout (amongst other things).

I've got a little of the current and also some of the future in as much as I've been agonizing over fluff like actually having a link to some sort of post-archive, a list of people who actually do stuff with their sites and such malarky.

atm I'm thinking of darkness. I want a dark dank colour scheme. mmmm. yummy dark stuff, so that's sorted (or will be at some point), but I am worried about layout. I use MT, and due to me having been fiddling with plugins my main style file is a nightmare and I'm quite tempted to replace it with the original.

anyway, any thoughts? like "ffs tdc get rid of the search box!!", or "blue is for pussies!" I'm cool with being called boring, old fashioned and unoriginal. even when it's true!

It looks a bit generic, perhaps you could personalise it a bit somehow - I don't know what you're interested in, or what kind of image you're interested in portraying to say much more?

yeah it is a bit generic. specially due to the blue/white scheme, which is, imo, the very essence of genericality I'm not entirely clear on what colours I'll be moving to.
ye olde site was black w/ orange font. I'm thinking of a pale yellow with a black font, though I'm slightly worried that the contrast will be too great :/

Does it look that way for a reason, I mean are you limited in some way as to what you can do with it?

I don't know much about Movable Type, can you add images, backgrounds to different areas, alter the templates any way you want, or is it more a question of shifting boxes around and changing colours?

no mate. I can do just about anything to it. Now that I have the "foo" page set up with it's own set of templates I'll be fiddling with it. I'll post updates here.
