Its true some of these do go Over the Top and some of the comments are unbelievable, i thought some of the people had a bit of sense but are thoughtless...

Heh, I've just re-read the first page and realised it was only MT who flamed the guy in the first place.

/edit - oh, and kippa... and maybe bodhi too... but they're normally alright so I can forgive them.

People seem to take it as a joke, but what if they where in that situation? would they laugh then? no, would they like it if people laughed at them coz he was trying to help? no.

You guys maybe smart or whatever, but some are just pathetic. No need for it.

I think the problem that happened on this thread is that with the overwhelming influx of advert spam threads in the past few months, people automatically assumed this was another and jumped straight in guns blazing.

On reflection they realised that in actual fact it was pretty worthwhile, and have all gone quiet in shame :)

Don't get me wrong - the vast majority of the newbies that turn up calling the shots and spamming advert URLs around need to be lambasted at every given opportunity - it's just that sometimes people need to realise that "More speed, less haste" isn't always the correct attitude to take.

Hence the call for a Moderator in here :) If not for anything else than to prune the crap and to stop the flame fests. The majority of posters here wont go for an 'R&R' type forum and they want the red finger smiler gone but when it comes to the actual flames themselves its those same people that initiate it all.

A newbs a newb at the end of the day and instead of clogging the forum up with crap pictures and useless one word comebacks as a result of a newb post, it would be far easier just to prune.

I've seen this arguement coming for a long time, we do flame a lot of newbies recently, some of it is worthwhile, like the american's who come in and tell the Brits to fuck off, but most of it there is no point, we need to give ppl a chance to be happy citizen of BW forums not frighten them off the first time they come in

Thank you all for keeping this thread at the top.

I feel for the people who feel their "turf" is been invaded. This thread has brought to the surface some deeply disturbing attitudes from the posters on this forum. I hope you find a solution for the deep anger a lot of you feel to the rest of the world.
