So I put my PSP on Ebay with my games/cables etc and I put on "Will accept private buyouts" woke up this morning and seen this in my mailbox - my buyout was £150.

Check out the ones who commented positive, and their feedbacks. If they seem legit, why not?

Soon find out cause no psp is being sent until theres £200 sitting in my paypal account ^_^ soon as £200 appears in my paypal its going straight into my bank and all receipts will be kept off the items sent along with a home telephone number which i'll ask for.

If its a scam they wont give out the number if it isn't they won't mind.

Edit: btw some of the purchases the person made were upto almost 2 years ago, don't think a scammer would hang around so long and not get negative feedback. (Don't quote me just a guess I made)

Check out the items he purchased see if they are just a few quid each. Or say you will not ship the item till cash has cleared into your bank?

That "I can send out payment immediately via Paypal because it secure, fast, reliable, and scam free" alone sounds like a major scam.

The only way you know someone is not going to get his money back is to take it from him, to shoot him and to leave earth for the moon, everything else is just bullshit and the guy is bullshitting you.

You have to post it to Africa? Dude, check the postage rates before accepting, you could end up with a £80 postage bill. Also, yeah, sounds suspect, leave the thing to run for a few more days.

Postage to africa for 1kg parcel is £11. (info taken from royal mail website) and aye I agree sounds odd so i'm gonna leave it running for a little bit longer.

Yeah its a known scam thats been doing the rounds on eBay for a while now. They purposefully go after high value electronic items (mobile phones etc) and then tell you this bollocks about sending it to their son/husband or whatever in Africa - usually Nigeria.

Most of them will send out a fake PayPal email as well which at first glance looks legit, and its caught out many people, so whenever you sell anything and get paid by PayPal, ALWAYS check your account through PayPal's website to see if you have actually been paid.

Good rule of thumb, as soon as a buyer mentions Africa, run for the hills... :sex:

RIP OFF - Seller beware

I've been on Ebay for many years and am in the process (if I can cut the cord) of moving away to reality. Sure you can get some good deals on Ebay but every other one (If your active) is frought with danger.

Anything and I mean anything I see with Africa or Nigeria or "buying for my Brother, uncle, Sister" or large unclaimed fortune....forget it.

Seriously, it is not worth the risk, I dont care what Paypal says, they cannot guarantee you one penny compensation..

Remember the onus is on you to prove delivery, not the sender, I suspect you'll get a message saying sorry it never arrived and paypal will recover the money from your account or your bank or credit card..

Bear in mind Paypal is not a bank and not subject to the same rules. they are a law unto themselves. All the people that have ever tried to rip me off have done it using paypal. Once or twice I have got my own back on fraudsters but more often than not you lost your item and your cash.

Also remember, you cant even rate the user negative if they do rip you off. He gets the cash, the item and maybe a +tive rating for sending paypal fast, you may get a negative for all your trouble.

But hey ho, its your cash, Item and rating :)

Tay hit the nail on the head.

Internet purchases are always risky. If you have any doubt, walk away.
