hey all, errrr... I'm a little bit confused atm.. I just woke up here in Norway and turn on my computer.. was about to watch a movie.. and all my sound drivers I think is unistalled etc.. cant listen to music or anything.. yesterday everything was working perfectly... what can have happened? =< where can I find sound drivers for my computer?

First off, as suggested, try reinstalling your soundcard drivers. To find out which one you have the nicer way, go to start ---> run ---> type 'dxdiag' then go to the sound tab.

If that doesn't work, it all depends if you installed anything, willingly or unwillingly last time you had your computer on. If so, it could well be a software problem. Going back to an earlier system restore point could help you to see if that was a problem although I wouldn't always rely on it...



Just a word of warning, it may not be this but one of few most common things to go wrong hardware related will be the power supply slowly degrading. Have had mine go down 3 times and 2 of them, the first thing to stop getting power was the soundcard. I say this because the USB ports for me were the next thing to go down, later followed by a black screen when I turned it on.

I only say this so that if it happens to you, you don't instantly worry like I did . If you know much about the insides of your computer, you could try unplugging your cd drives to give more power to the rest of your computer. If that makes no difference then it probably isn't your power supply. However, DON'T try it if you don't know how to do it...you could short out more important things
