Help with NAT settings please!

Ahoy amigos, i come with another computer problem!.

I'm trying to play PES2008 online on my 360. When i go into the xbox live menu i'm given a message along the lines of "Your NAT gateway is set to strict or moderate, you may be unable to connect to games or have other players connect to your games".

Does anyone know how i can alter this?

Are you playing this through a university network?

NAT (network address translation) is basically when the router receives an incoming message from somewhere, it needs to know which computer on the network its going to be sending it to.

e.g.
your router on the internet has an ip of 62.5.32.1 but it also has an internal network address of 192.168.1.1
your computer on the network only has an ip of 192.168.1.20 to outside sources you appear to have the same internet ip as the router (62.5.32.1)

The outside source has no knowledge of your internal network address, so its sending it to the router and then the router decides which computer on the network its routing it to.

Think it's more to do with the router settings or smt Nate - i can use any other game no problem, just PES08

Forward the ports to your xbox 360, add a service then add that service to firewall rules.

I've tried forwarding the ports and it says they're in conflict with another service.

Unselect any other custom services you have open. It could be that a rule you have for Torrent sites conflicts. Turn all other off then try to turn on your new rule is again.

On my crappy speedtouch 546T2 I just assigned xbox live to my computer through the router settings page, and suddenly it went from strict to open

Weirdly, first time in a few days ive tried to play online on PES2008 and I got the same message, whereas its worked fine before. So they must be messing about trying to fix these lag problems.

Forwarding ports seemed to fix it, just followed this site:

Nothing yet Shagrat - i've given up for now. Tried everything under the sun.

Asked on an Xbox forum and apparently it's just down to the shit coding by Konami. The message no longer comes up when i select XBL but i can't find any players, just waiting for the patch now.
