Help with microsoft keyboard creator

Ok, so i'm trying to use ms's keyboard creator (lets you make custom key maps) only i cant get any of the ones it builds to install properly, anyone else ever used this before? anyone want to try for me

Oh and the reason i want to do this is to avoid paying £££ to fix my laptop keyboard when currently only the # key doesnt work proper.

you sure your # key is borked RB matey? I recently had something like it on my gf's dad's lappy, where his @ and ' keys were screwed. It turned out he'd made some contradictory choices during Xp install which we managed to solve after setting all languages and system prefs to the standard US-English, booting, and then switching to Dutch locale.

can just get one of those external keyboards and plug it in the back .. wont need to do that then.

Thus defeating the point of a laptop, I'd also have to remove the keyboard leaving the laptop open to the air, and i'd have to buy a usb keyboard.

So if anyone can make the keyboard creator work i'd be happier

Curious and curioser, it seems to work on my desktop, just not my lappy.

Just had a quick go with it, changed a couple of keys around, validated the layout, built the msi, installed it, messed around in regional settings, seemed to work.

What does it not do on your lappy?
