Recently picked up this game and tried running it over a network to no prevail :( . I've disbaled -all- firewalls etc while my internet connection was inactive and i'm able to see the hosted game, yet when i try to join it won't allow me to join it after the 2 minute connection attempt time. Any suggestions from those IT specialists? :).

Its fun single player, but multiplayer > single player. Hence why i've put it away for a bit, Unreal Tournament 2004 rocks

I found it pretty awful compared to AoE2:C

The camera angle isn't very nice, and apart from the god aspect, it doesn't seem to work that well.

Those godly powers rock though.... a horde of wolves to harass an opponent at the start of a game.... can turn the game around right there :)

It let down the legacy of Age of Empires... the whole lack of wonder victories in deathmatch was the worst aspect, it meant there was no longer the choice of winning offensively or defensively :(

Still, AoE3 has been officially announced now, here's hoping it's back to the excellence of AoE2:TC

age of empires was always fun no matter what game of it, it was, but i do agree, this one wasnt as good as the others, not a huge let down, but still a let down compaired to what it could of been, but then most series do that at some point :(
