OK i've started to get alch high, sitting on 700 now, but the last 100 or so has been very erratic, I normally to low reds until theyre yellow, I don't care about failure rate, but even on successes i'm sometimes getting ten rounds in a row with no skill gain in a row on +20s. Some items seem to work far better than others though, so do any LGM alchs have advice on the best products to raise skill with? or have I just been having incredibly bad luck?

Talk to your friends and organise hunts if need be, but get ahold of the dropped alchemy components (CM's are also a good place to look) they make life a LOT easier when you are going from about 975 to 1000 it gets truely painful after that... it cost about 17plat (selling back and occasionally selling to other players included in that as it in was likely 3x that) to get from 1134 to 1144 and took about a week of 3 hour a day crafting... but the damned alblative reactive finally went gray....
Also, I'd highly recommend the tradeskills quest. I did this for armourcrafting when it first became available and wasn't that impressed with it, but when I gave it another go for alchemy with the intention of increasing the skill-up rate, I did notice a definite difference... and the quest is a relatively short and simple one.
