but, as one of my new years thingys is to no longer be drawn into 'microsoft sucks' discussions [another is to be kind to dear Embattle ]. After all, I really don't have to point out how crap the software is, as you all do that quite well - without any help from me heh. linux isn't heaven tho [as everyone seems to forget whenever I [or Alberto hehe] mention something good about it], it's an alternative. it works for me, and I'm glad it does heh. goto windows/system32/ and set it and all files in it to read only that will fook up your rig.

it should be bootable, if it was "cloned" it certainly will be. I've never seen a copied version work.

PS WinXP is great. Better than Linux ffs, that fooker runs feck all games without an emulator, and has a tendency to not want to install on any machine I've ever owned.

Strange, i managed to install all 3 quake games, and UT without the need for any emulators, and the same goes for running them.

Wine isn't an emulator, hence i can run HL without one as well
